Perfect balance, amazing accuracy.

Yeh,, the fact that they didn't add a delay between bursts AND gave it the highest damage of all the ARs really turned it into the M60 of the assault classjsnipy wrote:

L85 is the ultimate spray and pray weapon. Try and shoot in small bursts or single shot with it and you won't hit shit but if you go full auto MB1 down mode you'll be getting headshots all over the place.FatherTed wrote:

It's got the same RoF as the M416, does less damage and is less accurate. It's crap.
I think you sprint faster with the AUG, but not sure.-CARNIFEX-[LOC] wrote:
The problem with the AUG is that it doesn't do any one thing better than the other assault rifles. It's just kind of...meh.
I feel like, of all the kits and their respective gun selections, the assault rifles have the least variance in their functionality. They just have a different "feel" to how you have to use them.
But, that said,
AN 94 and M416 FTW.
No, just no.Nordemus wrote:

I allways did hate the M16-Sh1fty- wrote:

I agree with both, full auto spray and pray is funky awesome. however, you HAVE to switch fire modes if your gonna go semi.FatherTed wrote:

This is something they should've ported over from BF2. I miss being able to select semi/burst/auto (depending on weapon)Trotskygrad wrote:

This comes from a confessed "L85A1 whore"
I dislike the M16 too. It's simply inferior technology to NEWER gas piston guns (AK GTFO).
yup, feels a bit too much like CoD now.JohnG@lt wrote:

Ugly is subjective. I think the 'futuristic' weapons like the Steyr AUG and F2000 are hideous.FloppY_ wrote:

but still the short-recoil gas impingement makes regular cleaning (every other day is what I've heard) cleaning a must. The G36/SCAR/XM8/HK416 remains clean after firing (what I've heard too).JohnG@lt wrote:

The M-16 is a reliable weapon. It had problems early in Vietnam but they were fixed in the past 50 years
What was that M4 conversion featured in "Modern Weapons" where you could fully submerge it in water / bury it in sand yet pick it right up (obviously shake most of the water / sand out of the barrel) and fire...Trotskygrad wrote:

Cleaning a weapon takes five minutes, it's not a big deal.Trotskygrad wrote:

I completely agree, it's totally relative. Whether a gun is pretty or not should never be an issue. Design however, the way it's held, etc. is very important, and the M16 is amazing and excels in accuracy, design, reliability.JohnG@lt wrote:

Meh, if I were to live in the US where owning an semi-assault rifle was possible, I couldn't be arsed to clean it that often... I could live with once or twice a month...-Sh1fty- wrote:

If you clean an M16 once a day, it will work when we need it. Another big issue is lube. You use the wrong lube on ANY gun and it's fucked depending on the conditions you're shooting in. I've held so many guns, and the M16 is the most comfortable, the mag release, the bolt release, the sights, everything about it is just perfect for combat.
The only drawback I can think of with the M16 is the light caliber.

Waste of a perfectly good mag tbh. Most soldiers put the mags back on their vest when they reload so they can refill it later. Only time when you want to reload like that is in combat in pure desperation. Or if in your a position in which your not moving and can pick up the mags later.FloppY_ wrote:

In which case I guess I'd have to get some kind of AK / M416 or a Colt 1911...
Good thing 1911's are so fucking awesome then
Oh btw, isn't the reload animation of the FAL in MW2 the coolest reload animation evar?
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3d-FlFM8Ql0
Can anyone tell me if that is the intended way to reload it IRL? or is it just a gimmick from the game?
