I would say 2 had a higher learning curve due to the changed characteristics of the shotgun and all the new weapons and tweaks to gameplay. 2 was brilliant, but as you say, when it wasn't laggy. I would say approx 10-15% of my games were laggywah1188 wrote:

Gears 3 has been on preorder for me for a loooong time, getting the limited edition too I would have the week off work to play it: except that week is the deadline for my current project
The beta was immense, and provided they sort out the Retro and slightly tweak the DBS, this game's MP could last me a few years.
Oh, I never played the multiplayer. I thought he meant that singleplayer was laggy.
Just saw some SP footage. Claudia Black voicing Sam. Same banter as in Dragon Age and Uncharted 2. Cole as the hero. Baird as counterpoint Alistair, minus the naive part. Gonna be interesting storytelling.

But horde is fy favourite MP mode in gears but it says that theres only like 1 or 2 (or even 0) players playing and so it wont find a match, or i'll end up in one alone and it will wait for 4 more players into eternity.
Anyone else have this or know how to fix it?

My son got into a Beast mode game last night, but after that, it was 0 players. I got into a Horde match, and kept playing until there was only two of us left. I tried to join another game but couldn't join any of the matched ones.Kampframmer wrote:

Currently have 15friends online, all playing Gears3 1 has said he had a few problems getting Horde matches, but the others are all fine strangely enough.
Shame that fucking GAME had my preorder months ago, and have failed to deliver on the day of release.

Beast mode is too short at 12 rounds. Come on, give us 100 rounds like Horde Mode. Seems a downer after you've got three or so Berserkers wrecking havoc.
As for Horde mode, I killed a brumak last night. Seriously awesome on small maps like Gridlock. But how the hell do you kill a Lambent Berserker? I probably shot about a minutes worth of gun emplacement bullets into the thing with no effect.
Nice little touch is watching regular Locusts fighting Lambent on Horde mode.
Edit: ok, found the weak spot. Shoot at her rib cage when it's glowing and she is charging. Onward passed Level 30.

Just follow the bots. While they suck at situation awareness, they are far more accurate than most human players. Just keep them covered and there is a good chance your bot side will win against average players.Kampframmer wrote:

Anyone manage to do all 50 waves of horde? I think I've managed 40 seems impossible!
I've gotten to 25, but could've made 30 if 2 people didn't leave.
Its so annoying. The chance that someone joins in later is 0.0% and as soon as you die once people will always leave, even though all you have to do is start 1 wave over.
I hate cubts that leave when youve died once. Dying 3 or 4 times in a row, ok, leave, but not when youve wiped out once.
