we know u are full of bullshit, we've seen benchmark tests and how can a 6200 compete w/ a 6800? thats just retarded...

im with you

even with a prommy on the NV44, you cannot get it to max settings at 1280x1024 with a minimum 30fps

if you do achieve this, thats 2 7800 gtxs for you

Best way for you to do this, run 3d mark 06 and upload ur score

i'm a PC Technician & i shit you not when i say the 6600GT 128mb is better than the 256 card
i know cos i've benchmarked both on my system
having more ram on a graphics card isn't actually better, the main reason why the 128 card is just as good in benchmark scores is that it has a clock of 500Mhz but the 256card only has 400Mhz
i'd say if you've got the money to buy the 256
put a few more penny's towards & get the 6800GT 128mb

thats what we concluded... w/ the help of assasin since hes uber 1337 in overclocking and know whats about pcs, READ the whole posts, one guy said the 6200 can run at max settings at 1280@1024, and i think u wont believe it

OK no one is contesting the fact that 6800 is better however you CAN run the game on all highs with the 6200 OC AGP with 256 MB DDR2 Card.

You guys can say whatever you want regarding this topic. I cannot change your mind unless I physically show you, so I am ready for all the flaming in the world. However I do have the card and run it and know what exactly it is capable of. I am not calling anyone NOOBs or Dumbasses, everyone is entitled to their opinion. I personally know what this card can and cannot do that is why I decided to post here. BTW I am also MCSE, A+ hardware and Software sertified so I know a thing or two about cards.

P.S. Like I wrote above I AM NOT ARGUING THE FACT THAT 6800 or 7800GT are better I am stating what I got out of my card.

I honestly know if you can, or can't(don't know squat about Nvidia cards). But if what you are saying is true, post your score, they said they would give you TWO 7800 gtx!!!!!!!! Even if they don't pay up, you have proven you are right.

Guys the game will run fine on all highs with lesser cards.  I was running a Fx5500 at medium.  The things that haven't been posted are frame rates, number of players on the server, and AntiAliasing.

I'm running a 6600 GT w/ 256Mb DDR2 with all high settings and 2x AA...but I don't play 64 player servers - I would lag too bad because the card can't handle all of that.

As to the frame rates,  no one is contesting that the frame rates are better on the 6800 vs the 6200.  But it is possible that the frame rates are acceptable for play.  That only takes between 40 and 60 fps.  Your eyes don't notice anything different past 60 anyway, so that is all gravy for the crazy crowded action.

Bottom line...lay off.  No one is saying their $150 card is better than your $300 card.  Find your happy places and breathe.

O Ok God. Now that you say we should stop calling bullshit, we will!!

Who the fuck do you think you are?

Id like to see a screen shot of a 6200 that will that res with those settings.

Even a 6200 that has be softmodded to a 6600 couldnt do that shit.

The NVidia 6600 is not supported by BF2 and may not work.  You need a 6800 or better, see the README file that comes with the game for the list of supported vid cards.  It has something to do with the pixel shader.  If anyone knows different please speak up, I need to upgrade too and would like to save a little cash.
wat the hell it is u fool  READ THE README!
the bfg 6600gt oc  128 pci-e  or 6600 /gt agp or pci-e(it works with it on high but aa off) now i use the bfg 7800gtx oc 512mb pci-e

My mate uses the 6600gt, i have a 6200 in one comp and my main comp has a 7800gt all work fine with BF2/SF even me 3rd comp runs BF/SF with an old 5700ultra...but by far the 7800gt is the best for me cos every thing is set to max no lag no nothing...just having a good card isnt enough you need a good bit of memory as well atleast 1gig and a decent CPU...current main system has 2gig, AMD64 3800 x2, 7800gt 256mb...cost a bit but it will last a few years hopefully cos the mobo is able to take AMD FX64 cpu later if needed....5700, 5700le, 5700ultra all supported by BF2 they are the bottom line cards for playing this game..

By five or six months.
I am so going for it. It will last me awhile, I hope. What is it's Anti-Aliasing? 8x? 6x?
so ur getting it in 5 or 6 months? if it is then i would suggest u get the 7800gt by then coz it will be a lot cheaper then. u can run 4X AA smoothly w/ the 7800gt
in that case i would actually recomend buying a new mainboard with PCI-E slots for the new PCI-E graphics cards, it'll be much more worth it in the long run!

Just going to post up some useful numbers so...

(note: all of these specs are based on the reference nVIDIA hardware)
GeForceFX 5800 -- 3 vertex pipes, 4 pixel pipes, 128bit memory interface, 400MHz core, 400MHz memory
GeForceFX 5900 -- 3 v-pipes, 4 p-pipes, 256bit, 400MHz core, 425MHz memory
GeForce 6600GT -- 3 v-pipes, 8 p-pipes, 128bit, 500MHz core, 500MHz memory
GeForce 6800GT -- 6 v-pipes, 16 p-pipes, 256bit, 350MHz core, 500MHz memory
GeForce 6200 -- 3 v-pipes, 4 p-pipes, 128bit, 300MHz core, 276MHz memory
BFG's GeForce 6200 OC AGP 256 -- 375MHz core

Will it run at high resolution?  Absolutely.  Will it run with stable and playable framerate?  I cannot answer that.  There are a variety of factors and I do not have the hard numbers to help prove or disprove anyone's claim.  Needless to say, one can run a game at any kind of resolution.  The trick is whether or not you can run playable framerate at that resolution.

From personal experience, I ran BF2 at 1024x768 at Medium quality preset using my ol' trusty Radeon 9800 Pro, a card whose spec is not only a little better but also outperformed the GeForceFX series.  True enough, it does run like a charm.  I have never bothered to go one step higher, since that is the minimum I'd like to run it at.  I just set it and forget it.  When comparing the two on paper, it looked like that the R9800Pro would still outperform the 6200.  However, the unknown factor is that 1) my comparison is between an Intel machine and an AMD machine and 2) the 6200 chip is newer and thus may be more efficient in doing what it does.  Now, does that mean it is capable of running smooth at high resolution?  Again, I do not have the answer to that.  Certain system configuration would appear to support this claim.  However, as I have mentioned, I am not here to prove or disprove any claim.  It's all speculation and I am only placing my unbiased (or as unbiased as I can be) input based on past experiences.

I'm running a BFG Tech GF 6600 GToc w/128 megs gddr3 PCI-Ecpress. I'm very happy with it (I should have gotten 256 meg version).

I run 1028x756 usually at med quality but it will run high quality just fine. I'm only running  a gig of ram at the moment.

Good question mate! I have the 9550, its crap and I run all low. My brother has the 6600 and he runs Textures on high and everything else on medium.
