ok. i got the problem that after i've changed the key for ducking from left control to f (and after clicking apply), in game i still can only duck by pushing left control (and f doesn't work)...
any ideas?

If I remember correctly isn't 'F' used to toggle threw weapons? If a key is used for something else already I think it will ignore the change and set it back to default. Try changing 'F' to something not already used. Then set Crouch to 'ctrl'. Not sure but worth a try ..
If the key is already being used for something else it will say it's already in use, try deleting anything that has the F key in use (if anything) and deleting the control key and then setting F to crouch- don't see why it wont work for you.
Sometimes the menu can be laggy and applying doesn't work, you could try restarting BF2 and redoing it

i did change the toggle through weapons key from f to a key that isn't used already. i did it in general settings, vehicles, aircraft and helis. then i changed the crouch key from control to f. settings even show f as crouch key now, but it still doesn't work. i even did it several timesH3RB4L ABU53 wrote:

God knows, doesn't sound like a dodgy install or anything like that if that's the only problem you're having.
Try setting crouch to another key than "F" see if that works, if not try setting the key in your controls.con file.

Go to Documents, Battlefield 2, Profiles, (Profile number) and check if your Controls.con is "Read-Only"
