exactly, because you're stupid.

It's fantasy.

Magic = Medieval.

Sounds like you should take a history course.

Also the only "mainstream" medieval games i can think of are Medieval Total War/2 and Mount and Blade.

Anyways, Oblivion is nothing like wow. I can understand the boredom of a dice based game like most Fantasy RPGs, but Oblivion's gameplay was quite similar to Fallout 3's only the combat was less shit and there was loads more to do.

Fuck off already miggle... you know what I mean when I say medieval,, If I said fantasy it would include stuff like Harry Potter from modern times... By medieval I am speaking of Bows and fucking arrows as your highest tech tier and that bores the crap out of me in anything but a few RTS games...

You said magic was medieval M8.

I suppose dragons and goblins and merlocks and such are also medieval?

I suppose I'd be stepping into the plush slippers of Captain Obvious if I pointed out that WC3 and Diablo 2 have bows, arrows and magic coming out of their digital ears.

everyone I know who's played both (and doesn't form their opinion purely on the types of weapon they are using) has preferred oblivion over fallout 3.  Why they rushed out such an unfinished product is beyond me.

It's all pew-pew to me. Still, the division is valid. A WoW mage isn't quite the same as an over-the-top steampunk warlock with a rocket launcher.

Fallout's ending was anti climatic without having the brother of steal add on

And I got so sidetracked in Oblivion that I never made much progress on the main quest, but managed to finish almost every other one at a very low level.

That was the wonder of Oblivion. Each guild had more quests than Fallout 3 had total.

i think i will try oblivion now.
with fallout i added some mods with made it somewhat better. one that enabled you to add silencers, double clips, laser sights, and scopes. and another that let you repair robots and have a certain number follow you.

Not that I'm complaining, but there was little motivation for leveling since the majority of the game was pretty much easily-beaten at level 1. Just spam skills for awhile, never sleep (in-game), and every fight is going to be cake.

oblivion's leveling system was awful. About the only motivation to level was to be able to carry more. You could easily play through the game at level 1 and probably should, because at higher levels more difficult enemies arive.

That said, there's several mods that solve the problem.

See, that's the thing. For me, the point where I have to mess with mods to make a game more playable is the point at which I find another game.

understandable, though the game certainly isn't bad without them.

Gameplay -- Oblivion > Fallout 3

Story -- Fallout 3 > Oblivion

I always wondered why Fallout 3 was so... small compared to Oblivion.  Not that it was small compared to any other game though.

I thought the story in Oblivion was pretty corny at some points.
