Somehow, the editor for the Gamer edition of Guinness Book of World Records missed this. Seriously, how can 3DRealms turn into Valve Corporation?

You said the same about the BF2 1.5 patch.specialistx2324 wrote:
that game is never going to come out... maybe 5 years ago it would have been better off in the hands of gamers
Also, holy misleading thread title, Batman!Aries_37 wrote:

I still do enjoy Serious Sam, recently in HD. I find it to be entertaining to mindlessy blast through a bazillion of enemies. Not every day and not the whole day, but these odd hours or two hither an thither are perfect for that kind of game.globefish23 wrote:
Perhaps he was confusing something with Valve's Team Fortress 2, which had a rather long development time of 9 years.
Duke Nukem Forever?
Meh, games like that with testosterone fueled heroes mindlessly blasting through levels have been an old hat for nearly 10 years now.
There have been so many innovative games in the last decade, that reverting back to such '90s gameplay would be really dull and unimaginative.
The tongue-in-cheek Serious Sam from 2001 was the final game in that genre.
Excellent games like Thief, System Shock 2, Aliens vs. Predator and No One Lives Forever already existed at that time and groundbreaking new games like GTA3, HL2, UT04 and the Battlefield & Call of Duty series came soon after.
