Well tbh I never played CoD2, and I bitched about it in 4 (my first CoD game) so yeah.
cod1/cod2 are so infinitely better than cod4/cod5/mw2.

all you nublets that have never played cod1/cod2 need to realize what huge assumptions you're making when you call mw2 'good' or 'bad'. the original MW was the true death of all that was decent and respectable about the call of duty franchise... this latest game is shovelware. similarly, anyone that considers themselves 'skilled' or 'competitive' in mw1/mw2 needs to play cod1/cod2 to get some context and understanding of just what a huge joke they are. utter farce.

Used to play CoD2 lan matches. The favourites played were usually Carentan and that field map with the bunkers and tunnels. Kar 98K ftw.
what? i cant say i dont like a game and think its bad unless i played cod1?Uzique wrote:

Have you played mw2, zique?
I don't know about CoD 2 being better than WaW to be honest. UO is still probably the one that requires the most "skill" though. WaW had the most recoil out of all the CoD games since UO, worth mentioning that it was sort of made by the same guys that made UO.
Sure it copied the CoD 4 thing with perks and shit, but it was still a good game. CoD 2 had alot of gay console shit in it too, it was the beginning of the gay console invasion into the CoD series.
Also I liked the maps bmore in WaW than in CoD 2.

I have extensively played all of the Call of Dutys and I have to say vCOD was my favorite (over UO) I would love to see a re skinned re release of COD1, or a Quake Live type thing. Doubt it Will Happen though .Mekstizzle wrote:

EA and 2015 are redoing MoHAA....we'll see how that turns out. Re-dos never seem to be as good as the original.h4hagen wrote:

hahaha mek. uo requiring the most skill. door that way --> bye. cod2 is far superior to WaW as well. map design alone carries a staggering favour.h4hagen wrote:

and yes forman, you cannot truly evaluate how 'good' cod4/mw2 is until you have played the predecessors. just to give you an idea of how awesome the games were, and what a good series it was. the 'modern warfare' sequels are console-generation knockoffs and the widespread 'acclaim' they get is bullshit, for simpletons. the quality of pc gaming, particularly competitive, has degenerated and gone downhill steadily ever since the 'casual crowd' seized the majority. back in the days when pc gaming was more of a specialist hobby - a pursuit for tech-whizzs and geeks - the quality of FPS games was stellar in comparison to now. all we get nowadays are console afterthoughts, game developers creating pc 'versions' of a game originally planned and created for a 14 year old's xbox360 console.

A Korean War setting would be interesting, never actually seen one apart from a BF2 mod.
is it best rated for the 360, pc, or ps3?
Do you have all 3 then? I'll get this for my PS3 anyway.Kimmmmmmmmmmmm wrote:

Ah. Fair while since I heard about the possibility of Afghanistan, but I think its a modern setting.Commie Killer wrote:

At least they took note of it during their review, should have cost the game more than .5 points thoughIGN wrote:
What that also means, however, is that the PC version is also locked to the same restrictions as the other versions, so 32 person matches are a thing of the past, you can't create dedicated servers for match hosting, and that also will result in a lack of future mod support and PC-specific expansion. While this is definitely a downside for those familiar with the expandability of PC gaming and freedom that comes with a more open source platform, IW is essentially forcing the PC version to play by the same rules as the console offerings, and thus making sure anyone that wants to jump in and get the intended Modern Warfare 2 experience can do so across any system. It'll hurt the hardcore PC community, and but it's a decision IW made.
Should Infinity Ward have included more expandability across PC – be it in more players online, dedicated servers, or through other avenues – the PC version would have been reviewed as such, and the added features would have (we can only assume) helped the version go above and beyond its console counterparts. Seeing as it's the same core experience, however, we are reviewing it as such, and the game should be looked at as the same value and overall package as any other console.
Nah, I don't think so. vCoD had much less recoil than UO. Also the crosshairs in UO would get larger as you moved the mouse around the screen, let alone when you were moving forwards/backwards etc...Uzique wrote:

There were loads of things like that which made it more polished than original CoD. Although yeah the vehicles were abit lame, the rest of it was better. I can't remember if vCoD even had fire selection or not, I don't think it did.
WaW was much better than CoD 2 IMO.
On one hand, it's nice that professional critics and reviewers don't take into account anything they have seen with the previews, any rumors, any previous entries or sequels, and just judge the game as a single entity on its own. They're trying to make it as unbiased as possible. Unfortunately, that also allows developers to get away with shit like this because the standards are being set differently (e.g. we, as players, see the lack of dedicated servers as something negative that should've been included regardless, whereas the reviewers see it as "oh it's fine as it is, but dedicated servers would be nice, but we can't judge that, so who knows how much better the game would be")
please explain then, why the fact that the "campaign's storytelling needs work, singleplayer is short, and doesn't entirely live up to the Call of Duty standard earns it a 8.5mtb0minime wrote:

"people in ny have a general idea of how to drive. one of the pedals goes forward the other one prevents you from dying"
Oh, my bad. I was reading the criteria for a different gaming review site and they mentioned what I said earlier.haffeysucks wrote:

Besides, it's impossible to be 100% unbiased.
