Not at all. The needler I can't really tell as well but the spartan laser looks miles better.
whatever you say chief.

It still looks a hell of a lot more like Halo 3 than CoD2 looked like CoD1.

CoD2 was a much better looking game. They looked virtually nothing alike.

Actually the needler looks more square to me than in previous halo games. The spartan laser also looks more square than in halo 3 plus with a little screen of some sort on it.

Edit: Took another look at the pic of the needler, maybe the pic is so shit it made the needler more squared.

How are they still making Halo games? Honestly. I played the first one and it was boring as shit. So repetitive, story line was terrible.

I just don't get it.

First off: Halo 1 is an old game, at the time it was a whole new game and introduced new ways of gaming. As for the storyline, it was very intriguing for alot of people and they wanted to learn more about the story.

second off: The entire game has a large fanbase and because of that, it still is going strong.

I played the first one back when it came out. You want innovation in FPS gaming, go play Wolfenstein 3-D, or Goldeneye. I know this will come out sounding like an exaggerated personal attack, which it's not, but a lot of the hardcore Halo fans bother me in this way. They act like gaming was utter shit until Halo came out and that it was the godsend of gaming, especially FPS's.

Halo 1 wasn't fucking innovative in anything. It was a damn good FPS with an interesting storyline but I'm strugging to see how it was innovative.

Halo 2 however was. Pretty much started the XBL/PSN wave.

Gaming was not utter shit for me until halo. I had fun with games like Day of Defeat(the original).

I suppose that's partly true, but I'm not gonna give it that much credit. I think XBL and PSN were born out of necessity and it was just time that they came around. It's not like Halo 2 suddenly came up with this idea, which then every other game started to implement and Microsoft and Sony looked at and decided to take it and run with it.

There were plenty of online multiplayer games before then. Maybe Halo 2 was just one of the first few games that took the next step, but everyone else had planned to do that anyway.

I started playing video games at 3 I think. I started playing online games at 6 or 7 with Day of Defeat 2.0 being the first.

Halo & Halo 2 made Xbox Live what is today; for the average consolefag, online deathmatch was a new concept at the time.  However, for the PC gamer at the time, Halo was nothing new--people had been perfectly content with UT, Counter-Strike, DoD, TF, etc. and Halo was just another FPS, nothing really new.

And it could be said that Xbox Live made gaming what it is today.

If you could go back in time and change one thing, what would it be?

I really only play halo for single player and co-op.  Multiplayer is eh.

In my mind halo and CoD multiplayer modes are fairly similar in the very base gameplay.  Small areas, avg. of 1 minute lives, short rounds, flashy and paced for adhd.  I really don't care much for either.
