id Software’s John Carmack dropped a bombshell today when he announced that the company’s upcoming game and next-generation FPS, Rage, would have no plans to support dedicated servers.

On that note, it sounds like id Software's decision to omit dedicated servers from Rage will depend entirely on the success and feedback of IWNet in the PC version of Modern Warfare 2. Should it be poorly received, id Software might reconsider their decision.

Not that interested in Rage so it doesnt bother me, I have no idea what the combat in this is meant to be like anyway, it might not require dedis as they might have designed it as 5v5 or something.

However if they remove mod support for their games then that would be totally retarded.

I just hope people like valve or DICE don't drop dedis.
