Yeah this is a slap in the face to PC community, but honestly, who cares? Call of Duty has become the new Halo with shallow game play and huge masses of fan boys. The original Call of Duty and United Offensive were the only ones worth playing, and even then their gameplay was repetitive.
Don't bother wasting your money on this game, if you really want to play it then torrent it for single player. There are much better games coming out for the PC from true PC developers such as Natural-Selection 2 (http://www.unknownworlds.com/ns2/), Red Orchestra Heroes of Stalingrad (http://www.heroesofstalingrad.com/) and BFBC2.

I'm happy to see people are finally smartening up and realizing how much of a joke the entire Call of Duty series is, I realized this instantly with the release of COD2.

they aren't, they still love all the horrible gameplay mechanics and the consolization, they're just pissed about the lag.

Well, I wouldn't pay $60 for single player, you just wait for a couple of years for the game to drop to $20
