Intel Core i7 CPU 920 @ 4GHz || 3x2 GB OCZ 1600Mhz DDR3 || 80GB Intel X25-M Gen 2 || KFA2 GTX 480 1536Mb ||| Samsung T220 || Xonar DX 7.1 || AV 40 || P6T Deluxe V2 || Win 7 HP 64 Bit || Lian Li P80
Lookin gud
So, I plan to get a new rig in Nov/Dec:
I won't be doing to much gaming other than BF2 until BF3 eventually comes out, so I think I should maybe wait until closer to then to get a powerhouse of a graphics card.
I was looking at maybe getting this off ebay: http://cgi.ebay.com/Evga-Nvidia-e-GeFor … 500wt_1182
The incredibly low price kind of worries me and I'm afraid it won't work or something
There are other fairly good deals on similar cards on ebay as well, so that's what I'm thinking right now, since I know that by the time BF3 comes out/requirements are out, there will be better than the current top cards, and the prices on current best cards will doubtless be lower.
Other than that, it would be a decent/good card for BF2 and such, yes?
Looking at this monitor:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.a … 6824001281
This card + i7 build I have previously discussed should handle games on it well???

My old 7600gt ran BF2 fine. That's more than enough.
P.s: Why do I have the feeling you'll ask a similar question in the future....

lol, ur probably right, but I like getting good deals & value out of things, and it just seems to me that something like a 5870 is huge overkill when I can just upgrade the graphics card when it's actually needed(and hopefully cheaper).IrishGrimReaper wrote:

Get a 5870. It'll easily play BFBC2. By the time BF3 comes out, you'll want to upgrade again anyway...

I don't really need to play Bad Company 2, I'd be completely content to play BF2 and Operation 7 until BF3 comes out, and if I do change my mind on what games I want to be able to play, I can easily make up the cost of an 8800 by selling it to my friend for about what will it will cost me for it on ebay anywayebug9 wrote:

edit: I don't need overkill right now, since bf3 is a long way off, so I don't want to waste on an unnecessary graphics card if I'll just have to replace it later without using it to it's full potential.
I would just get something to run Bf2 on high right now, but it seems like a waste to have do another complete build for Bf3 when it comes out

Gay resolution. Get 1280x720, then you can watch 720p movies perfectly with no letterboxingGC_PaNzerFIN wrote:

Well, today was ment to be the finishing paint job.. But due to the fail of a primer I used yesterday on some small bits they need to be re-done.
As you can see, here is the fail primer at work, there was something funky about it, notice the residue it left -.-
And the paint wasn't sticking so good to it either as you can see here. The small PCI and grill bits will be fine for now unless I have some paint left over for them.
New primer is alot better.
And the mobo tray and chassis are all ready to roll. Gotta move quick they picking up a fair bit of dust out the back.
Edit: Got most of it assembled now. Need to get some pretty LED's to brighten up the inside as the Window is Shadow tinted so it's dark. Thinking maybe UV white.
For the first ever case mod I done, I'm well pleased! +1 to my dad aswell I couldn't have done it without his help.

Nice. What exactly did you do to paint it? Just put primer on it, then the black? How many coats? Did you have to sand any of it back between coats?IrishGrimReaper wrote:

I'm looking to do this to my case before I put my new build in it and I want to get it right the first time.
Well I sanded everything before I primed, just a light sanding really didn't want to mark the case too much. I did have to sand the HDD cages again cause of a dodgy primer used that wasn't great atall.Sup3r_Dr4gon wrote:

So I primed, gave it a day. Then started coating with the black. I did 4 coats of black, 2 per day. and then went over it bit by bit to see if I missed some. It's really not that hard to do, and you can reverse something you done wrong with primer and some sanding to try again
