The forum has been too heavily enganged in bitter, hateful topics.  Let's all have a drink.

Depends on what you eat with it.

I'm not a big fan of just drinking wine to drink wine though.

Ahhh finally a cultured question, someone who enjoys the finer things in life, a fine filly, a cuban cigar , a good book and a bottle of Blue Nun!! lol

only joking  you cant beat a bottle of 'Pouilly Fume' a lovely white wine from france, goes with anything. Expensive but does the job. I have found with wine you get what you pay for.
Trouble is drink a bottle of that and play bf2 and you wont hit diddly squit.

i just noticed youre from salt lake so you probably dont have 'Blue Nun' wine over there. Let me tell you its crap and cheap, in your money about 75 cents a bottle!

Red wine. However, I prefer a good Vodka over anything.

Actually, the liquor stores here do carry Blue Nun.  I'm more of a red wine drinker myself.  I prefer the darker wines like the Merlot or Cabernet.

I do like beer as well though.  For hard liquor I like a good Canadian whiskey; I can't stand sour mash whiskeys like Jim Beam or Jack Daniels.  I also like a good tequila, and once in awhile a single malt scotch.

Yeah, it certainly does.  Napa, Sonoma, hell, even my dad makes wine.  I just choose not to drink it.  So delicious root beer for me!

Ich trinke gern Bier.
Edit: I think that's how it's said.  Give me a Guinness or almost any Pilsner and I'm good to go.

We actually have some local brewers that make some fantastic beer.  The down side is that they are restricted under Utah law to a maximum alcohol content of 3.2% by volume.  Any beer beyond that content can only be purchased in the state run liquor stores; although we do get some decent German beers in around the time of Octoberfest.

Definatly better for you health if you don't drink a lot.

If you like Cream soda I got the drink for you.  Whalers Vanilla spiced rum and Gingerale = Cream soda that will catch up to ya.

For me its not the color of the wine, it is weather it is sweet or dry.  I like sweet and spicy wines. Givertz or Port. don't mind my phonetic spelling.

I drink more rumNcoke or Irish Wisky then wine though.

Yeah, there are a lot of stupid alcohol laws in the US.  In Georgia, you can't buy alcohol on Sunday in a grocery store, etc., but you can go to a restaurant and drink until your hearts content.  Go figure.
Luckily, I can get any alcohol content beer in Georgia now, so, occasionally, I'll buy one of the high gravity brews just to check it out.

I watched a bottle of Red Wine kick the shit out of a bottle of White Wine once.

But then I ripped the red wine bottles head off and drank his blood.

Some times I'll have a coke & whiskey, some times I'll just a coke and a big shot glass full of whiskey...depends on my mood.

I actually prefer the dry red wines.  Zinfindels are disgusting, and white wines just don't seem to have the full body that I like in red wines.

But hey, everyone should drink what they like.

I've really been enjoying the Australian Shiraz with dinner lately.

After the meal is over, however, it's Uisge Beatha!  Scots make the best.

I like:
rosé wine
Königsbräu King Bier
Guinness is ok too

About alcohol laws in the US.....how old do you need to be to legally drink alcohol. Is it 21 for every kind of alcoholic stuff? Is it the same in all the states?

We got some good wine country in Oregon, too. My very favorite is a pinot gris made by Eyrie Vineyards. It's dry white, goes great with a bowl of olives or fresh grilled salmon. Other than that, we drink the 2 buck chuck: Charles Shaw wines from Trader Joe's for $2.99 (used to be $1.99) not bad wines for the price.

*yeah, 21 in all states, for all alcoholic beverages. Even non-alcohol beers you need to be 21 to drink. (why would anyone want a non-alcoholic beer is beyond me!)

Yes.  21.  But nobody obeys that law.
