As you all know, Valve's update yesterday removed items gained by external app. idling, I hereby lost some of the items I had earned through achievements that had been deleted due to lack of ability to see which were the gained ones and which were achieved ones, so I sent this Email to Valve:

fair enough, but I would like to get the items that i earned, fair and square, from achievements back.

Since there is now way of telling which were earned and which were picked up, and the items randomly jumping around the inventory from time to time, I guess the "earned" items have been deleted due to beeing duplicates... Can I please get these Items back?

Items are Ambassador, Sandman, Backburner, Flaregun, Razorback & Dead ringer.

As you can see from my account, I have earned the achievements required for these items...

Also, I would like to make a couple of suggestions.

#1
Unless the "crafting, trading & etc." update is right around the corner, may i suggest making duplicate pickups add +1 level to the duplicate item that is currently in your inventory, since you added & removed the "random level items" without notice in update news.

Add a "achieved, crafted, traded and found" tag to items.

And today when I opened up Drunken Fools Inventory checker, I found this:

Now I have no hats again tho

oh well, I am happy with the idler hat I will recieve :3
EDIT: Just found out that "took moral high ground" doesn't mean those who DID idle, it means those who DIDNT D:

Yeah there was a post on the forum the day of the mighty purge that said they'd put back in weapons you had actually unlocked.

What I do care about is how they labelled me as a cheater, put a black mark on my beloved Steam account, and put an item in-game so people could easily discriminate between the 2 'classes' of players, causing everyone in the whole community to be horrible to each other and miserable. Not only that but Valve have called me both dishonest and immoral, which I strongly disagree with. Like I said. They insulted me. They did all this without ever saying not to for months and months on end. Instead of asking us to stop and shutting down the idler, they just let us use it until they felt like leaping on us.

So shut up ok with your completely baseless (not to mention downright wrong) comments. Stop leaping to conclusions all the time.

Which would involve purchasing two copies of TF2. I don't think anyone cares about unlocks that much.

I don't understand why people are idling in the first place. Wouldn't you want to play the game? I got every item (no hats, though) within the course of a single week of casual playing.

Idling allows people to rolls for items and do other things. I can idles while I go to class, eat lunch, sleep and post on BF2s. When I want to play TF2, I simply stop idling and join a real server.

Some servers have changed the Halo hat to be a glowing neon sign reading "Fag". It was made by someone who was gutted their hats got deleted by Valve and they didn't get a Halo and is proliferated by simlar people. ...Why does Valve make shitty irrelevant content? Instead of hats, or items, or whatever, why couldn't they devote the team to making things like new maps, or gamemodes, or... something that matters.

When I first bought The Orange Box, TF2 was great. There were achievements, so you could feel like you were working towards something, but they didn't really do much, so unless you had a really bad case of SPS (Small Penis Syndrome) there was no need to get them, and as a result there were very few "Achievement" servers.

Then they started coming out with unlocks. The level of SPS cases went up.

I haven't playd in a few months (out of country, and now my desktop is dead), and I don't know if i ever want to, now.

Oh well, at least 1.5 came out.
