I am installing a new motherboard this weekend along with both my new 512 7800 GTX's.  Will I have to reinstall windows or can I just slap the motherboard in and reinstall all the drivers?

You will 99% sure have to re-install Windows. I have had the odd occasion where I have been able to replace the MB and the system just asks for new drivers, (but that was from one MSI Neo board to the NeoII so i was just lucky). I tend to have a seperate drive, or a partition that is purely for my operating system and apps, so that when this situation arises it's a simple sweep and clean with no data loss and no farting around having to back up my info

I have a gigabyte K8U-939 that has been used for a couple of weeks that I could get rid of.

Do you know what directory windows saves its updates in?

In that case you are limited to Nforce 3 chipsets or VIA/SIS chips. I have  a 64bit 3200 on this mobo

has been top notch for me and worked flawlessly, the only drawback is that with four simms installed they max at 333Mhz (even if they are rated higher)

Could we get back to the topic at hand.  Is there anyway that I wont have to reinstall windows?

Windows updates are installed "into" the operating system and do not come with their own install or setup file, therefore you will have to re-download and install the updates

To make life easier for yourself you can slipstream SP2 onto a copy of your windows XP cd (i did, saves loads of time since sp 2 is a big download) you can follow the steps on the link below, hope it helps

And as Hyper says, you will 99.99% have to re-install, as it happens I do this every 6 months or so anyway. And if you partition your drive (say 30Gb) for your OS and apps, in the future this will be less of a pain in the arse for you.
