What's so bad about this update besides the 10 sec crits in ctf thing?Uzique wrote:

No seriously I've been away and am confused
The CTF thing is actually a cvar that can be set to any number at all (default is 10 obviously), including 0. So if server owners don't want it, they don't have it.Uzique wrote:

Force Jumping
How is that a 'new thing'?
So many of these fucking idiots have never played TFC or any earlier version of the series, clearly.

should be patched out. a triple jump (double jump + fan jump) is balanced well, but only horizontally. if you can jump that high vertically, then you practically can get where soldiers can. almost.
"people in ny have a general idea of how to drive. one of the pedals goes forward the other one prevents you from dying"
What? What's that got to do with anything?. Where has anybody said 'this feature for the Scout is unlike anything in a Team Fortress game ever'.Uzique wrote:

Stop making pissy comments when there is no reason for them.
edit: New trick for the Spy to use

People making YouTube videos showcasing a 'New Feature' are people that are just shit. It doesn't take a 'forum discovery' to figure that the changes made to the FaN tweak and boost the Scout's ability to double/triple jump. It's like making a video after the tweaking of Soldier rocket-boost changes saying "New Soldier Rocket-Jump Feature!" just because it gives you 2 metres more take-off. Yawn. People that spend their time discussing and watching this shit just boggle the mind.Spidery_Yoda wrote:

yeah was borked. I was just trying it a bit ago, it's like the crouch wasn't being registered in the jump, instead you flew like a rock.haffeysucks wrote:

A lot of people were complaining about it ingame yesterday.
That update causes the game to crash on startup in DX8 mode, which is unfortunate because I have to run it in that mode to get a playable framerate.
Does this mean we no longer get hilarious deathcam shots of scouts in midair with their legs flailing about in awkward positions?# Fixed Scouts going into reference pose in double jumps
We still have this:
You mean Scout knees weren't supposed to bend forward?Lucien wrote:

I don't think so. Since the Classless Updates, Scouts often went into 'civilian' mode during a double jump.Lucien wrote:

Have you actually seen what it does? It's nothing like a slight boost to the double or triple jump, and it's certainly an unintended side effect of the new knockback physics. It launches you straight upwards almost as high as a rocket jump, and can completely change how you move through levels as the Scout.Uzique wrote:

So yes it is worth making a video over.
