They made these changes because Jord became too good with the helis.AussieReaper wrote:
OKay, so the timer for lock on air to air missiles for jets has been greatly reduced. its insanely OP. easy to lock on and hit choppers in a few seconds.
lol choppers are absolutely worthless
Related question:
Is the 4th passenger seat in the scout heli the one next to the pilot, looking forward?
If so, I'm looking forward flying with Jord again, spotting & designating with the laser painter.
yeh it is

you have seriously got to be a fucking idiot to still play this game. it's fucking shit. it's an insult to fps gaming.
the above trailer is complete proof of everything that is wrong with aaa console-pc 'major' titles. it's all hollywood, no gameplay.
they're basically making interactive movie experiences now. the actual multiplayer GAMEplay comes far second to 'oooh pretty!' cinematics.
play something else you mongs.

I still have a lot of fun in this game. I wouldn't if it were not for playing with my friends and they feel the same. Haters can piss off

NOTE FOR PS3 PREMIUM MEMBERS: Currently, your copy of Armored Kill is available on PlayStation Store but not in the in-game store. We are investigating this matter and should have it up in the in-game store eventually. In the meantime, download your expansion pack on PlayStation Store.
Yeah, figured it out that the AK expansion was delayed in being listed on US PSN store. EU had it earlier than we did.
Played it for a while last night. Impressions, for those that like impressionism:
1) The Heli nerf is worse than I thought. Not having gunner countermeasures is a BIG problem.
- The maps are all about armor, so everyone is Engy and every Engy has PADS. Engy's bail before you blow up their armor and paint you up with the IGLA/Stinger. Plus, the Below Radar isn't effective anymore against MANPADS. They can lock on to you while on the ground, stationary.
- Most heli maps have both Scout and Attack choppers. Scout chopper pilots no longer have Laser Designators and their co-pilot seldom use them. Therefore, most Scout pilots use A2A missles. Now Attack Heli's have to deal with two A2A threats along with the MANPADS on the ground.
- Mobile AA is highly effective on the open nature of these maps. A fourth missle lock to run from.
- Jets are now more effective against Helis. A fifth missle lock.
- Gunships have 30mm cannons and AA rounds to pester you across the entire maps. Just when you outrun a missle lock and start to recoup vehicle health, an errant AA round from the gunship hits you and stops the regen.
2) On most of the maps, the gunship is just a slow moving target that allows the jet noobs to level up. I swear the AAMTRAK can withstand more attacks than the C130. It can be damaged by just about anything. Jets, Helis, Tanks, MANPADS, AA, rain, hail, clouds, and nitrogen. On some maps, you spawn in and the attacking jets already have it down to 10%.
3) Armored Shield is great. Feels like a Zatar Wetlands or Harvest Day. Bandar is cool. See also Highway Tampa. Albourz is okay. Death Valley reminds me of Surge on BF2SF. Least favorite map of the 4.

The whole reason I was considering this was to finally have full-scale maps where the helicopter wasn't so forcefully fistfucked.
Should have known not to get my hopes up...

I was looking for the same thing Carni.
It turns out the the heli's are now just the filling in a sh*t sandwich and the pilots need to eat and grin.
Now looking elsewhere.

Is the game out of beta yet?
Also, how many people currently play the game? IIRC, it sold like 13million copies and now there's <1 million playing. That's sad.

It felt pretty dead at the start of summer when I pretty much quit for good. According to gamestat.co.uk, it's been holding steady @around 60-70k players a day for a few months.
Pretty fucking paltry given the number of copies sold in the past year. DayZ does better if those numbers (or dayzmod.com's, for that matter) are to be believed....
