I've seen some of the damage characteristics from GT5 and minor damage is there but nothing near realistic.
So why is this so?

GT5's damage is seemingly better than Forza 3's but still cosmetic. They both put themselves off as racing sims (more GT5 than F3) but they can't really be called so unless full damage is put on. You don't scrape up against a car and have no scratches left behind.
