I honestly wouldn't be surprised if it were MGS5 now that I think about it. I heard about that Project S but I bet Sony threw a lot of money at him to make another huge game (aka MGS5) to up PS3 sales. Not sure if it'll work, but us with PS3s already will be more than happy.
looks like it's going to be a Metal Gear remake...so says 90% of the threads on GameTrailers/all the commenters on Kotaku
I'm still not a MG fan but it's interesting to follow this
Big Boss? Fuck Yeah

Whoa... Can't believe these forums are still kicking.
Correct me if I'm wrong but if it was a metal gear remake wouldn't Big Boss be much older and wouldn't he be wearing the Fox Hound embalm? I mean if that is him in the picture which it probably is. If it's a 5 it would make sense to explain how Big Boss ended up in that coma when they took his cells to make the 3 snakes. Explain how the Patriots first operated and expanded and how they all split up rather then how MGS4 explained it through dialogue at least you will get to see it. That'd be more interesting then a remake of Metal Gear.

The question is, do you get to play as Big Boss? Can't tell what is says on his beret. The top part looks like the Army Special Forces tab which irl is worn on the shoulder.

holy mother fucking shit
this will probably be an inbetween of MGS3 and MG chronologically
MGS3 = 1964
MGS5=????
MG= 1995

no, that is not Gray Fox
so this possibly cant be a remake of MG and MG2 because Big Boss was well into his 70s i think, 70s or 80s one of them....

Maybe its like MGS2 with the two chapters with different characters, only this time its two different time periods as well.
It'll still be odd without Snake though.

Do you mean Snake's Revenge? I tried playing it Sunday but got stuck pretty early in the game. I'll have to retry it again during the weekend, maybe keep a walkthrough from GameFAQs with me so I know where to go this time.Rod Foxx wrote:

Don't play snake's revenge, it wasn't made by Kojima nor is it even in the Metal Gear storylineFrankieSpankie3388 wrote:

play the real Metal Gear 2: Solid Snake
Ahh, never knew that but then again, I never really followed the old ones anyway. Looks like it's only for MSX and is only in Japanese, any idea if there's a translation for it?
If you have a PS2, pick up MGS3 Subsistence, they ported MG1 and MG2 so its all translatedFrankieSpankie3388 wrote:

make sure its MGS3 Subsistence though, not MGS3 Snake Eater
Huh, I just found a free dl of Metal Gear 1, but theres no instructions for controls, so like I can't play it lol.
Wow, total game size is like 450kb, yowza.

Damnit, I bought the triology pack at Gamestop that had 1-3 in a bundle for $30 like a year ago, unfortunately that one's not Subsistence. I may just rent it from Gamefly just to play through Metal Gear 2.
Apparently the badge on his cap has some reference to Outer Heaven aka MG1.
Fucking called it.
