Just got the Huntsman as my second unlock
This just in: Huntsman sucks

K, it doesn't 'suck' per sae, you can get a good few kills with it. It just doesn't match the snipers traditional role: Out of the way precision shooting. It turns the sniper into a mid range arrow spammer. I don't know, only used it for 20 minutes.SamBo:D wrote:

Sniper rifle: you can hit anything regardless of how it's moving.
Huntsman: the delay between firing and hitting means that your opponent can dodge or simply move randomly and there's a good chance you'll miss. At longer ranges there is simply no way you can be guaranteed a hit if your opponent sees you coming.

Not to sound like Uzique Jr., but you can't really judge a class' skill/usefulness by what you see in the average insta-spawn pub shit fest.

It was made with mid/close-range Snipers in mind, not the pussies who sit back 5 miles taking potshots, and cry when they get slightly harassed by rocket spam.
Good games on the BF2s server earlier tonight... should sort out a config with an appropriate number of CP-cap victory rounds, and throw all of the standard maps into the rotation . Typical pub-server at the moment, twice as much Payload gameplay as anything else- but still pretty enjoyable for a pub blasting away with some familiar faces!

Bit of a joke really, 17 out of 37 achievements is the third milestone?
Well they realised with the medic update that (even more) people farmed achievements when they were required to get all of them.SamBo:D wrote:

wat, you have to get milestones for the unlocks to be available?

sick, milestones now?
"people in ny have a general idea of how to drive. one of the pedals goes forward the other one prevents you from dying"
No, when you reach the milestones you get given the unlock. They can still be found through the random shit system they have now.Finray wrote:

Good move on valve's part, just 8 days too late.

I dunno, I think it's worked out quite well.Bevo wrote:

They tested their new system. There wasn't as big a surge to the newly updated classes as usual due to the lack of needing to get achievements. Games weren't interrupted by people trying to get achievements. People had no need to farm achievements at all, and so got them the fun way (ie when they happened). Hiccups in the new system were ironed out slightly and the major problems were removed.
Then, milestones were added. People had some unlocks already, had some achievements already, and so gameplay will continue smoothly.
Sure it wasn't much fun getting duplicate unlocks over and over again, but never mind its all in the past now.
Awesome. Brb TF2.Peter wrote:

Not getting to play with the new toys was very frustrating for many. Having no control over it only made it worse. While there weren't any 9 v 9 all spy matches, there has been a giant leap in amount of snipers and spies per team. New toys for any class means it's going to be played more often. I've already been banned twice since the patch because admins told me to change class, there were "too many snipers" or "too many spies". After telling them where they can shove it, you can guess the result.Spidery_Yoda wrote:

Finally I will get those annoying and elusive Sniper unlocks . I've had all the Spy ones about 3 times over but literally never play the damn class.Finray wrote:
