Fair enough. From what I've heard it's made the heavy, sniper, spy, engy and pyro completely obsolete though.
Prefer being a pub rand and pissing people off with w+mouse1 proskillz tbh.
Engy and Spy have always been largely regarded as public-server novelties, pubhero classes and nothing much more. When you have 6 people you can't really afford to have one sitting on top of a sentry gun at a certain point in the map 24/7, especially when you're playing against highly-skilled and coordinated teams that could dismantle any sentry nest or Engi trap without having to look twice. Snipers have a very big place; high-skill snipers are lethal in locking down certain points, or picking off Medics and Scouts. Every push and defense hinges on the protection and killing of the Medic(s)- if you have some highly skilled snipers or scouts that can pick off the soft classes that support the big guns, then you can easily push through to the next point and dominate the team. The Heavy has a use in certain maps and situations... again, a good (team) player makes a huge difference in how the class is used and to what effect. I have also seen Pyro's used in matches/mixes quite a few times, they are lethal for ubercharged pushes and for breaking through the other team's medic combos, as well as for point defenses and whatnot. Every class in the game does have a
use, it's just that in match situations you have to consider the class-layout of the opposing team and play to their weaknesses-- more often than not, playing Spy/Engi/Pyro will play into their strengths, because if you roll these classes against some of the best Soldiers/Demomen in Europe, you're going to get raped!
