I hope they revamp this to be as awesome as F1&2 felt. Fallout 3 deserved a lot more quality tbh. Look at the gun animations, the weapons and armor design, the textures, and, my god, no contrast setting. I could say more but it's a good game where it's at...it's just a lot of "little things". Took some adjusting for me...lol when I got my first assault rifle and tried firing at something +10 feet away non-VATS and it sprayed in circles I was like...wtf?
Fallout 3 didn't have that 'dark' and innocent-less feeling. Not sure what it is exactly I'm talking about but Fallout 3 just didn't have it.

Well considering they're not calling it Fallout 4, it's just going to basically be an expansion pack. Sure, they might touch it up a bit, but it still won't be much better. When I first saw Fallout 3, I was first expecting an awesome FPS. The FPS is dreadful in the game and it turned out to just basically be a RPG all around. I'm not saying it's a bad game, I'm just not that interested in RPGs and I was expecting a decent FPS feel to it.

because them marketing it as a RPG makes you think of an FPS.  and the original fallout and fallout 2 were both RPGs.  gg.

It also turned out to be shit on the rpg elements as well.

It was a really unimpressive game, which is sad because the original fallouts were amazing, as was oblivion.

Yeah I don't get why everyone falls over sideways to ram their head up fallout 3's arse. Oblivion was way better and looked a lot nicer. Maybe it's because fallout 3 has guns and gritty textures so it is cool, swords and magic are for nerds right?

of course, i never played the original fallouts but i thought 3 was great (i still haven't finished it either).  it did deserve GOTY but that was only because of the lack of other games that year besides GTA:IV.

It can be. When the textures actually look cool and not just dusty and low quality.

When shit looks stupid and the combat isn't good, yeah.

Oblivion - Things looked great and there were varying environments with what was stellar graphics. Problem is nothing looked cool. Glass armor model = complete fail, deadra armor = not spikey, weapons generally don't look all that cool, and the whole blocking and attacking system was a good idea but it was mediocre. I expected just a bit more variety in the way of magic. When I saw the fireball spell I was all like "cool I can't wait to get the flamethrower-like/giant fireball/hax'd up crazy flaming meteor of doom from the sky spell." But guess what, I only got to create my own variant that did a bit moar damage. Regardless, I could complain about any game - it was up there with Diablo 2, even on xbox (w/o all the sweet mods) Oh and without mods your character absolutely has to look like he got out of the imperial prison for raping children.

WoW - Okay well it still looks like the other warcraft games but come on...still a bit cartoon-ish. Raids are all about getting new 'gear' and getting to brag about how much damage you can heal/take/deal and albeit PvP is exciting here and there some things are unavoidably unfair and bland.

They give back what they put in.

I sunk a few hours into Fallout 1. My biggest issue was that I couldn't whack up the resolution. Mad max leather vest + Dogmeat =


Some of the jokes are great too. Being able to barter with anybody is good, as are the minor elements of puzzle solving.


Noob, WoW = a virtual themepark. You line up to do various 'rides' over and over to get tokens to win the prize!

Oblivion had shit loot...

None of it was cool or had effects that were actually interesting.

So don't pick it up...

It's there to add immersion, which IIRC you were obsessing over when FC2 came out. I'm sure there's mods that remove them from the game anyways.
