Frets on Fire is an open source Guitar game and is pretty damn awesome. It supports all the Guitar Hero songs (Probably the Rock Band ones too) and has a much larger library of songs to choose from.

On every song or just a few? You might just have a badly tabbed song or you're trying to play songs over your skill level - I can barely do most songs on Medium so far.

Maybe it was the challenge but its one of those things where one difficulty is too easy then the next is way too hard

Maybe it was the challenge but its one of those things where one difficulty is too easy then the next is way too hard

It seems a bit that way on quite a few songs; it takes a bit to get used to the new button presses after getting used to the easier ones (not to mention songs that seem to add extra strums/notes for no apparent reason).

I played FoF for a short while and that led me to GH3. I've played that for about 30 hours on x360 and around 140 hours on pc.

All the songs you can play in FoF can be played in GH3 and vice-versa. I prefer the interface of GH3 over that of FoF so i stick with it.

Also if you like the game you should consider getting a GH guitar from somewhere. It makes it much more fun.

Yeah, who knew scrolling circles could be so computer intensive? I'll never understand why FoF and GH games are such pc killers.
