Valkyria Chronicles, just finished it today. I bought this gem of a game after having tried the demo and reading a lot people's praises online. The game cost me € 30 and I clocked up 40 hours on my first playthrough while still having plenty of incentive to go through it again (new game + = awsm). You'd think it'd get boring given its length but the compelling story and well worked out character development keep the experience from getting stale. The core experience, the combat sequences are very entertaining.
Don't be put off by its seemingly anime look. Even I who dislike traditional JRPGs and anime got really immersed into this game. Give this game a try, play the demo or even better rent it. The demo will only give you a small taste of the game as it's a really bare bones modified skirmish (outskirts of Bruhl, the easiest and boring one in the game).
Best game I've bought for the PS3 so far.

I played gears of war for a total of about an hour. As Yoda says it gets tedius really fast. And doing fun things like running and shooting people and sawing them gets you killed so you have to do the boring as shit sit behind a wall and kill everyone. It wasn't good in terms of gameplay and i wasn't hooked onto the storyline. Out of the hour i did play i had to do it in 20 or so minute slotsPoseidon wrote:

And then Gears 2. Zavvi (a shop) was shutting down at the time and were selling gears for about £22 soon after it came out, so me and my flatmate went half and half and so we got it for very cheap. I didn't really have a lot of interest in it because of the first, but was happy about buying it because I wanted a co-op game since i'd not played one in a while. Plus of course I wanted to see what was new. We both enjoyed it more than the first for most of the way through but again, towards the end, I was completely fed up with it. But yeah I finished it because I enjoyed spending time with my flatmate and he wanted to finish it so I was hardly going to say no. Plus, again, I wanted to see the ending .
Plenty of games have dragged on for me but I've still loved them. Dead Space being a pure example. The whole scavenger hunt thing got old pretty quickly but the game itself was still fun as hell.

Did the game come out or is it still in closed beta? cause I was playing in the closed beta testings for a couple months
Champions Online.
It is pretty fun, but its really just the novelty I think. The character creation and power selection, and travel powers are all awesome fun. Gameplay itself, and the inability to easily resize the UI are letting it down at this point.
Krondor - The betrayal and Krondor - Tear of the Gods were based off those games. With Assassins just being there to make a 3 book series (fill in space).TimmmmaaaaH wrote:
