the new x1900 card looks good... but the nvidia 7900 is gonna pwn it, and u cant compared new tech to old tech, there must be a match like 7800 = x1800's match
You can't even really compare ATI against nVidia - it's not like cars where the basic technology of the internal combustion engine is well known and pretty much standard across all cars - ATI and nVidia use different basic technologies so it's pointless comparing - you're not comparing like with like in any way what-so-ever.
The only usefull comparison you can make is bang-for-buck - i.e. I can get an ATI whatever that'll give me x thousand 3DMarks for this price, or I can get nVidia doodad that'll give y more/less 3DMarks for that price.
But, even then you've got to take into account the fact that 3DMark/AquaMark/WhateverMark are all synthetic benchmarks - they give an indication of performance, but it may not indicate how those cards will perform in your system on the games you play...

There is not a single motherboard that can actually use the full 512mb anyway, stick with 256.
Where in the hell do you get this dribble? Look at benchmarks, ATI is winning in game benchmarks. Also, look at screen shots here and compare, ATI looks better.cyborg_ninja-117 wrote:
ATI is best used for encoding videos and that kind of shit, but nvidia is waaaaaay better for gaming

Between the x1800, and the 7800 gtx, the 7800 does better in the synthetic benchmarks. Your also comparing to a card that is not even out yet. Another thing look at that link, x1800xt still outperforms the 7800gtx in some games. So, by your logic, I can just say wait for ATI's R600, and it will whoop the G71. It will never end. Fact is look at the benchmarks, Nvidia usually does better in the synthetics, and ATI does better in the games. Nvidia usually pushes for frames per second, where ATI will push for new 3D architechture. Read throught that review, and you'll see Nvidia will have a hard time beating them this time around. It will be like usual though. ATI will win in some games, and Nvidia will win in others.cyborg_ninja-117 wrote:
lets compare x1800 to 7800gtx coz their the match, who wins in games? nvidia. who wins in benchmarks and video encoding? ATI, the x1900 is the competition to the new nvidia card
