Why would you want to buy it through steam for £10 more and with no hard copy i just dont see the point!!
I now pre-purchased it via Steam for €50 instead of €32.
My reason was, that the delivery from the UK to Austria may take longer and I would receive it past the release date.
Also, packages can get lost in the post.
I don't want to buy retail in Austria at all, because I fear getting stupid censored German versions.
Pre-Order from Play.com and receive a code to access the PC BETA before anyone else! The BETA is due to start on the 28th January 2010 (subject to change). Codes and instructions on how to access the BETA early will be emailed two days prior (currently 26th January) to the start of the BETA. Please note, pre-orders already taken will automatically receive a code.
I already pre-purchased on Steam and don't feel like getting a refund.
First Single player gameplay video.
What mek said. But wern´t we talking about Austria, like in Europe? That´s what fish was after.Spark wrote:
so why is it everyone talks about australia...Sisco10 wrote:
Germany always cuts the games released there. It´s pretty retarded, too, because they usually get an above-18 clearance and still get stuff cut from it. Some games are even forbidden to be sold openly (like Doom 3), others get things replaced (green blood like Gully mentioned) or robot enemies, like they did with Soldier of Fortune 2.Mekstizzle wrote:
I didn't know there's a cut version? It doesn't seem particularly gory at all, or anything like that. Just standard blood/violence. Not even on the level that World at War was.
I've never heard anything about this. Why Germany? Seems abit random, they don't usually do stuff like that unless it has Nazi shit in it. Australia, I can understand, that one's obvious.
Problem is, politics has no clue about videogames. They just claim videogames (Killerspiele called in german [Killergames translated]) are the reason for people running amok. It´s a witch hunt.
Anyways, BFBC got above 18 clearance, which implies that it might be uncut, but it still can be cut at some parts. In the EA UK forum I got told that there is a german version, that is different
As far as I know, Austria always gets an uncut version in german, because they don´t have all that crap like in germany, despite the similar language.
this game looks great but i dunno if i'll get it.
no peeking (?), spammy gameplay... people are hyping it as a MW2 killer but it looks just as mindless and fucking simple to me

Gotta agree with my mate Uzique here. Gameplay doesn't look anything like BF2.Uzique wrote:

@Demize99: "More #BFBC2 PC blogs are in the works. Stick with us folks, answers are coming: FOV, Admin tools, etc. What else?"
@Demize99: "@manurangi On consoles we are 30fps, on PC it's however fast your PC can push them out. "
==================================================
In this Gamespot UK video interview with Patrick Bach, starting at about 2:43, they mention seeing the PC version of BFBC2, and spend several WHOLE MINUTES talking about the PC version! Not a lot of new info, but alot of assurances from Patrick that they are putting a lot of special effort in to the PC version. And, it won't be delayed!

Don't need an upgrade, I'm all set.
@androo BC2 isn't supposed to have gameplay like bf2, I actually like the gameplay better.

Im just glad it doesn't have that ghey blood spat across the center of the screen that makes retaliating near impossible on MW2. I think I will wait to find out if controls are fully customizable before I buy another Battlefield on console.

Actually, in a lot of cases we simply got the censored, German version. It seems that publishers are too lazy to produce multiple versions of the same language.Sisco10 wrote:

The retail Orange Box I bought here in Austria was censored, at least until Valve removed that in some patch about a year after release.
What a minute. Since when could you have a sniper rifle and assault rifle. Or did I miss something.
That's just the campaign, ever played the bc1 campaign? Doesn't follow the class policy that the multiplayer has.Scratch[USA] wrote:
