So I went to play fallout 3 today, steam updated it. And now, it opens the window at the start. But as soon as I press play, I get the "Fallout3 has stopped working" error box?

When I got Fallout 3 on steam, it wouldn't go past the loader screen where you can change vid options etc.
I had to download 2 dll's, xlive.dll if I can remember and some d9dx_38.dll I think, I had to browse to the Fallout 3 folder and try the Fallout3.exe directly (Not launching it via steam) to get the error messages, I posted a support ticket on the 28th December, and they haven't got back to me yet.
