otherwise I'd actually go with what actually happened and have the Americans kick some British ass
How big is the demo?
I'm getting it from steam now, but have never d\l anything from steam and can't find where it said the total size of the dl was.
Going along at 150kb/s though.

I might get this
I really need to get a good PC
I was surprised at how well this engine ran! able to play @ ultra w/ 2xAA w/ fluid frames. I think with alot of cityscapes and a bigger map might take more a toll on my hardware though. i havent had a chance to play the sea battle yet though either. sweet game for sure!
Anyone else getting retardedly long loading times? Takes me almost a minute just to get to the main menu
Game is decent so far, but demo's so easy I can't tell if my tactics are working or not :s

Love the naval battle. The amount of detail in this demo is amazing.
it will still be registered through steam, just like HL2. but yes you will be able to get a box with a disc in it from a store, as i will bePoseidon wrote:

So my retail version can be registered through Steam? Sick.
Not impressed. Not much has changed since Rome: Total War.
I know what you mean man.....it's just the same as with the julii I took thousands of infantry to conquer the Gauls. The Gallic artillery was really touch but my musketmen were easily able to outclass them with skilled maneuvering and changing firelines to entrap those Gauls in a crossfire before finishing off with a calvary charge of dragoons.Zimmer wrote:

The senate was pleased
Don't you mean since... Shogun? It's a winning formula, why change it? No one really hated Half Life 2 because it continued in the steps of Half Life 1...Zimmer wrote:

Plus, it's a demo that previews one tiny restricted battle and the dead-basics of naval battles. The epic-awesomeness of the Total War series always comes from the combination of that real-time action with the turn-based conquering of the world-map. I absolutely love the steady progression your campaign takes as you slowly colonize and engulf entire continents- it's a great single-player time burner. Plus, even better is now they've made that stuff online, so you can burn time with your friends! Not much has changed since Shogun/Rome/Medieval in terms of actual gameplay, but that's because Total War has an amazing niche and they're sticking to what they do best.

Swords, shields, armor, etc is way more fun in an RTS than guns anyway.
What the hell kind of game were you playing? Sounds like a cross between Rome & Medieval II TW...Sgt.Davi wrote:
