Does it have a radio that talks to other car beds.

Speaking of office set ups, I just started using a stand up desk at work. How I did not make the conversion earlier I will never know

You should get a teacher podium and a little metal chairs.

I personally made fancy hall passes at the start of the year and they were all stolen by October. After that I said "fuck it. They aren't worth nice things".
I would sometimes space out in an overly decorated classroom, staring at the same trivia on the wall for like 20 minutes straight. I believe in the value of minimalism. Also the savings, if you're having to buy some of that stuff on your own dime. High school kids should probably get used to that sort of thing. Some of them are only going to experience workplace decoration in the form of an unlaminated 8.5x11 sheet at an Amazon State warehouse promising a lottery ticket for a candy bar to the best Christmas Day performers.

Is your classroom like oppressively beige and institutional without flair?

i started using stand-up desks too for a while, before the Great Office Enclosening.

definitely very useful to mix up your posture and working position a few times throughout the day. i normally edit for 30-45 minutes and take a standing coffee or something.

I spend pretty well all weekend standing up, I've only really gone to work for a rest for the last 30 years, there's no way I'm standing up all week too.

Also, being a night owl its great to be paid for my unproductive time, when I get home I can do some useful work.

i really enjoy working freelance for that reason. if there's a week of bad weather or i need to recharge, i can night-owl it and keep my own time and make 2x the money i was getting from my salary. it's nice to choose when you get paid and how much, on a given month, depending on lifestyle factors.

Bought a new ipod - yes I know - blah blah blah I want music independent of my phone.

Kid sales assistant in the store had to ask someone what an ipod was "don't you mean airpods" and where they were.

My current one is going strong at 9 years old, but 16Gb isn't enough.

7th gen ipod touch was like 5 years ago wasn't it. Was your sales assistant in high school or something?

e: anyway good time to pick them up. I don't think apple intends to make any more, discontinued a week ago.

the ipod is totally classic. shame it got replaced by an era of shitty and unsustainable streaming services.

it's sad that something as shit as the apple music store/service lives and yet the ipod has been sent to the farm upstate.

Does the last ipod still use the original cord and require iTunes? Both are onerous. I will probably treat myself to some Airpods Pro. Maybe even today though the idea of ordering them on Amazon doesn't sound smart.

I had hundreds of songs on an original iPod Video back in 2007. iTunes wanted to do an update of the ipod's firmware. It promised it would backup all of my music before it did it. iTunes lied though. I never rebuilt my iPod library after that. iTunes can go to hell.

I like the MacBook and the kids finally convinced me to invest in Airpods. Slowly I am becoming an Apple homosexual.

I don't see myself ever giving up my Android phones though. Too well integrated with Google services.

there are some really nice standalone mp3/wav/aiff/etc music players. they cost more than your ipod though and don't come with the same ease-of-use and integration with apple's ecosystem. marketed more at the audiophile or music enthusiast market.

these A&K players are really nice. i'm happy enough with my iphone, though, for convenience's sake. have about 100Gb of music on it.

I was planning  on my current mp3 player being my last. I only use it in my car. Phone doesn't have much space for audio though. It'd be like going back to my 16gb zune hd. Plus Google's gotten rid of the headphone jack

I might just get Amazon Music Unlimited and stream through that. I already have an Amazon Echo and Amazon Prime. What is one more subscription service?

I'm old-balls so I still use a standalone mp3 player and was in the market. Definitely something cheap, not the audiophile/expert versions uzique posted, just something that plays my library.
You'd be surprised how hard it is to find one that has 3 things: bluetooth, expandable microsd slots, AND isn't some crazy knockoff brand that organizes files by file size or some random shit.

I found a hack that you can buy a $30 Sandisk one that doesn't have expandable memory but you can pop it open and it's "drive" is just a microsd card that you can replace with a larger one.

My prime endures frequent scrutiny. The moment it doesn't pay itself off, it's gone. I am not subscribing to any more amazon stuff.

For that matter, the only google service I use on the regular is maps for navigation. Youtube, wouldn't make a difference if I was logged on or not. I don't upload videos, I'm not signed up for any notifications, and I've turned off recommendations. YT is a shell of its former self and I wouldn't really miss its current incarnation.

How many people have gotten into wrecks because their phone chimed up with "an alternate route which will save you 3 minutes" and they're scrambling around for their phone before they pass the offramp.

Voice activation should honestly be automatic when a phone is in navigation mode. I think it's careless that the default interaction is still having someone look down at their phone so they can press a tiny confirm button. And if there's going to be a button to press for whatever reason, like make it the entire lower or upper half of the screen so you don't have to glance at your phone.

I do miss having the old style of phone with buttons I could feel out, made phone calls so much more eyes off.

Well I bought my $50 Sandisk Sport Clip Plus and hacked it apart to put in a 64 gb micro sd instead of a 16gb.
It's a absolute basic mp3 player but I really only need it when I'm listening to music on the bus or working out so it works for me.

Everything was great until the software of the thing actually needs separate folders for the playlists WITH THE MUSIC IN THEM. So you have a parent folder of all your music (likely organized by artist), then an additional folder for each playlist with all the music files duplicated in them. If you have a lot of playlists or a lot of songs in your playlists you will QUICKLY run out of space: my ~48 gb music library filled a 64 gb card to 98% because of the duplicated music for playlists.
I need to likely buy a 128 gb card and rip it apart again.

I have a sandisk (I think it is) flash drive that turns into a red hot ingot if left in the computer for more than five minutes. Not really surprised that the company's software is likewise lacking.
