Fuck yeah Alonso pole. Anyone but Red Bull, even Alonso

It's good to see that they've caught the Red Bull in terms of pace. Alonso on pole, Lewis only like a tenth down. They've caught up

Webber a cunt? It was also Lewis's fault as well, 50/50 in my book. Id rather see Webber get some solid points than neither of them so that he can win the championship, instead of Alonso or Vettel.

Thats what I thoight. But then not on race day... McLaren lost all their pace today, Alonso and Vettel just flew off.

It was just a racing incident. Lewis can't see and Webber would never have time to react in any reasonable manner. Webber got lucky that he could still race and race fast too.

Good race still, Webber made alot of good moves. Alonso and Ferrari show Red Bull how to win from pole positions, Vettel can't overtake for shit so even if he did catch Alonso he would have probably destroyed both cars in the process

Because he overtook about 4 cars on fresh tyres whilst they were running on tyres that practically had to last the entire grand prix. Yeah.

He was running in front of them anyway, the only reason he ended up behind was because he punctured his tyre and had to do a second pit stop. The guy is a good driver, no doubt. However I don't subscribe to the notion that he's on the same level as Hamilton, Alonso and Vettel. He hasn't done what they have done yet, for whatever reason. So he can't be put there. There's no use making assumptions in cases like this until he can get the chance.

Also that Renault car is being developed at a serious pace. These people are no slouches, they've won the WDC and WCC two years in a row. Something people tend to forget when they hype up how amazing it is that Renault are doing good.

He hasn't got the car that Alonso, Hamilton or Vettel have.

He doesn't have 6 times the points of his team mate cause he's slow. He's also finished in the points more times then Hamiton and Vettel and hasn't qualified worse then 9th, something you can't say about Alonso or Hamilton. If the guy gets a drive in a top team in the next couple of years I wouldn't be betting against him winning the world championship.

I've heard that Kubica is the best of all drivers on the simulators as well.. A completely different experience, but interesting nonetheless.

Yes, but it goes back much further then that. It was mid way through the 2008 the season that I predicted him to be a future world champion. He's quick he's mature and he's consistent.

Yeah he's good but you can never know if someone can be WDC until they get a real chance. I'm sure he easily will get his chance soon enough

Anyway, this is what happens when you book a trip without doing any planning, haha:

Sergio Perez joins Sauber for 2011!

Good stuff, he's quite a talent and only 21 years old - always fun to watch in the GP2 series.

Pretty sure I highlighted him as an F1 prospect a while ago in this thread

Nothing from this weekends race?

Petrov, once again, proved he is a total tool. Kobayashi keeps on proving himself...very impressed with him (when hes on form).

i think it was 100% petrovs fault.  he had an awsm start and was gaining bucketloads of places but he got stuck between  a sauber and a williams. he didnt have a way to go

Ya, Kamui is still relatively young as well. Once he figures out when and where overtaking is actually possible, he could be a good outsider for race victories. He should be a good prospect for, say, Renault if they get enough money to kick Petrov back to his Lada cups.

It was a pretty uneventful race, but yeah Kobayashi was showing everyone how it's done. He was the only one driving like nothing else mattered except overtaking whoever was in front of him.

Kobayashi was freakin' awesome that race, had my eyes on him practically the whole time. He overtook like what, 3 people in the hairpin lol?  Pretty good race over all, sad Red Bull took 1-2.  That track is just awesome too.

To be fair Red Bull are cheating too, they're flexing their wings but they're doing it in a way that it passes the inspection tests, even the improved inspection tests. Really it's more design genius than cheating, but it's still illegal. Don't see why the FIA can't use the photo evidence of flexing, but I guess there's too many variables to make a definite judgment with photographs.

Ferrari cheated in the sense that they broke the rule, but even then there's arguments that it was just talk and not specific team orders. It's not it makes much of a difference whether Massa won or Alonso won. Someone else should have been there attacking them instead of them two ahead of everyone else doing what they want, I don't care for cars of the same team overtaking or not

Who exactly are the cheaters? I'm a McLaren-Mercedes fan, and quite dislike RBR.  I don't read up on who is bending this rule that way and loop holing this thing and that, I just watch the races and hope my team wins.

Interpreting the rules a different and better way than everyone else isn't cheating, and if the wings pass the testing that the FIA set up then it really isn't cheating.
