From what I have been told by WoW players, the "Oceanic" servers are still hosted in the US.
That is my understanding as well. Overall though, that doesn't mean much. Latency is hardly a problem in WoW, if any lag occurs it's likely severe server load or network problems other then latency.TimmmmaaaaH wrote:

Oceanic servers are predominantly home to Australian (and nearby) players.

Well...
A published academic sociology journal now exists on the subject of Warcraft:
Digital Culture, Play, and Identity: A World of Warcraft Reader. (MIT Press)
Imagine writing for your doctorate or diploma on that!

Yes, I was bitching about the fact that we don't have locally located servers.TimmmmaaaaH wrote:
Yeh, latency has never bothered me in an MMO, but I was just clarifying what Flecco was trying to say (I think anyway)
And its not a problem for you mob down south but it used to add to my already considerable latency. USed to occasionally end up with 500ms lag during pvp or while being the tank on an instance.
Which is not workable.
Whoa... Can't believe these forums are still kicking.
