I'm glad it went for Xbox tbh, otherwise the gaming market nowadays would be pretty much Sony dominated.
Fine, how about if it went for both Mac AND Xbox?
Hmm. probably wouldn't have been as solid as it was. If a game is developed for a single console/market/w.e, it tends to be much better quality.

And i think one of the big selling factors for Halo: CE (and the rest of the series), was the quality of the game.

True, but any game series that gets crazy sales etc early on, tends to have that anticipation throughout the series' span.

Example, Star Wars movies.

Not denying the lack of quality in Eps1-3 for star wars (although Ep3 was a marked improvement over the previous 2)

But making games for Macs is like opening up a Bacon store in a Hasdic Jewish neighborhood. Sure you'll get some customers, but it's not really economically viable especially considering the other (better) options.

In 2001 though, if enough people got it, it could have created a gaming industry on Mac.

Maybe we'd all be using Leopard instead of Windows now.

Multi-player was good. Didn't enjoy single player. Halo 2 and 3 are not much of an improvement in either area though, it always feels like it's the exact same game and the others in the series are pointless new maps without much content.

2 was quite different tbh.

Introduced a shift from the odd medipack+rubbish shield to a 100% regen system
Dual wielding - and the massive implications that had for grenade use/reloading/surpressive fire etc
Xbox live
Massive development in the story, 2 main chars, personal development/the whole cortana thing
larger battles

3 wasn't quite as different, but expanded quite a lot on the MP side

Forge
every game you play on live is recorded, and can be viewed at any angle, at any moment in the game
game modes
further balancing
and finally a player controlled jet thingy (because tbh the Banshee from Halo 2 wasn't that fun)

I focus more on the MP aspect, because that's where I see the long term enjoyment aspect. Sure the story improved, gameplay wise though nothing jumped out and grabbed me as special.

Not saying this is only unique for Halo. Cod5 is going to be the exact same.

Not really, as I prefer pc shooters. When I have played it on the 360 it hasn't been for more than a few days straight before I move to something else. That's just me though. I don't hate the games, and can see where the fanboys are coming from though.

Yeah that's true, I'm just saying, it is overrated. I love the Halo series, but some people act like each game is the second coming of Christ. I haven't seen anyone on here do it yet, but you will see it on some xbox forums and stuff.

Most blockbuster titles tend to be very overrated. It's not exclusive to Halo. Not saying you said that, I'm just saying.

Yeah but Mac has never and will never invest in making games. Microsoft on the other hand had the money to fund Bungie throughout Halo's lengthy development cycle. MS took a big risk, Bungie at that point hadn't made an FPS game in years and Halo was the most ambitious game to date. But it paid off.

Well, fucking grats to you sir. Their next game is probably going to be just that, since they said Halo: Recon is the last game for the Halo trilogy.

never really liked halo, too unrealistic for my taste and just feel that all the other FPSs i have are better. imo Halo is extremely overrated and is relatively mediocre

The first one was absolutely amazing, i find the weapons to be perfectly balanced. The multiplayer maps Damnation, Chillout, Beever Creek yada yada there was so many brilliant maps. The controls are outstanding almost the same standard as mouse keyboard tbh. I wont mention the singleplayer cause it was awful maps was so boring.

I liked the 2nd one dual-wield added some fun but it didnt had the same feeling as 1st. Singleplayer was great fun how ever.

I have only played the 3rd one briefly and i dunno what i saw didnt impress me i liked the first 2 more.
