I'll agree it's overused, but atleast this one has it from different perspectives.

We don't really see a lot of the battles in the Pacific in video games.

Yeah, there's hundreds of WW2 games, but most of the time your playing as an emotionless American super hero fighting possibly racist and definitely inaccurate depictions of Jermans.

Where as in CoD5, your playing as an emotionless American super hero fighting possibly racist and definitely inaccurate depictions of Gapanese.

CS: Treyarch actually starting [working on] Call of Duty: World at War a year before Modern Warfare hit the shelves. I doubt that many people would have been very surprised back then, since all the titles in the COD series up to that point were set in WWII. So we set out to create the best of that genre. As surprises go, I think you will like this one.

Exactly. We want revolutionary war! If it doesn't take more than a minute to reload I don't want to fire it!

I'd actually like Revolutionary War RTS. Luckily with Empire: Total War, it seems we'll atleast somewhat get it.

Have you played the Battlegrounds 2 mod for HL2? It is so bad it's good. Weapon accuracy is horrible and it takes something like 8-12 seconds to reload. I love it.

World War II isnt played out IMO.  As long as its a good game.. But i dont trust Treyarch with COD... I am dying for a German front COD game.. THey made a good mod for the first COD, but I want an official game.. They should make a game based on the book "The Forgotten Soldier" by Guy Sajer.  I still get tears when I read that book.

Nah, I'd prefer a game based on the movie "Das Boot".

Easiest. 360 Achievements. Evar.

I'd love to see a single player campaign where you can play as a German.

But of course that isn't going to happen out of fear of the company being labeled Nazi-sympathizers...

I hate it when people say stuff like "omg not another WW2 game" or whatever.

If the games good then why do you care about the setting.  CoD1/UO were by far the best CoD's, CoD2 was shit.  CoD3 wasnt bad for a console game but its not like the other CoD's.  CoD4 recycled a lot of shit but added lots of multiplayer stuff.  Point is, setting is not what made them good or bad, it was how the game played.

I'm really excited for CoD WoW so F you if you dont like it just because its "another WW2 game".  Dont click on the thread if you dont have something original to say about it.

Well in the past few years "Codern Mobat" has actually been used more than dubya-dubya-too so a return to WW2 isn't necessarily a bad thing.
