it depends witch way your going and witch cpu you pick.. but pretty much all are unlocked downward.. so you can decrease multiplier but not increase..

Just to know: Is 6000 with 3DMark05 low with a GeForce 6800 and an AMD 64 FX 55 ?
if its just a normal 6800 and not a gt or ultra then its pretty normal.. even with your powerplant of a cpu..
because 05 is GFX based and cpu dosnt have much effect..

1 problem, some mobos (mine) fry easily when Ocing the cpu coz u must use the FSB, but if u can unlock the cpu multiplier, u can OC only to the cpu, not other components of the pc

But thats because you are OCing the PCI BUS and the RAM too... Your mobo doesnt support this let me call it lonely FSB overclocking... Thatz why I only use ASUS boards (except of course my Shuttle xPC)

seeing all those high '06 scores makes me want to cry...

my rig:
Althlon XP 3200
1GB 400mhz DDR dual-channel
AGP X800XT PE

my scores:
'06 - 1985
'05 - 5773
'03 - 11325

And, of course, it doesn't run any of the Shader 3.0 tests in '06

core 2 duo will give you double cpu score compared to your p4

yeah but for an core 2 dua i need an new mobo, and with an core 2 duo mobo come the ddr2 memory. that is an to expensive upgrade for me. wha about an pentium D, that fits on my mobo.
my 7900gt is already overclocked when you buy it, it the TOP edition.
