Games good. Can really spend a lot of time modifying your cars. I have uploaded a few cars. They don't get rated well (4-6). Any way to post pics of your ride online? I tried to sign up for the social club and it didn't let me. Said I wasn't part of one of the allowable groups or something.
I was kind of surprised that there was no install required. The game has froze on me 4-5 times now. Usually during the beginning loading screen or when switching back and forth from XMB (Sony Menu) when playing music from HDD. I wish there was more sound level options for the HDD music. Even on the lowest setting the volume is too loud sometimes.
Once I stopped running my PS3 through the router and hooked it up through a hub I was able to stay online without issue. The online is alright. I played some races and some capture the flags. Was smooth most of the time, but during a couple races a couple of the other players were very glitchy. The chat quality seemed pretty damn poor.
I'm not too far into the game yet. I started with the 240. I then won the Camaro. I fixed up the Camaro to the max I could and customized the paint, vinyl, etc. I think its pretty sick, but like I said it only had a 6.17 rating or so. I then won the Focus. No interest in the Focus. Then I beat the time trial time again and was awarded the Eclipse. No interest in Eclipse either. I raced pinks for the Mazda RX8 and blew him out of the water with my Camaro (has a nice slide around corners). I sold off everything but the Camaro and RX8. I used the money to max out the RX8 and customize the paint, vinyl, etc. Uploaded that one and it got rated a 5 something. I'm really starting to thing there are some retards rating the cars. I'm not saying mine should be 10's or anything, but I have seen some nasty ass cars rated 7-8. I just don't get it.
Still not sure if I am going to buy it. I'll finish out the rental and see how interested I still am. I'll have another free rental when this one runs out, so I may just re-rent it.

Anyway, aside from that. This game kicks the shit out of Burnout Paradise. In every single aspect. The driving in this game is so fun, and it's not as arcadey as I thought it would be. Progressing through it slowly, just beat Nikolai and won that race series where you have to go to that Chinese restaurant or something. Car customisation, nothing special it's all been done before but it's always fun to have it there.
I can tell this game is going to get hard though, even now sometimes I'm finding some races to be harder than expected. Good stuff though, gives me a challenge.

Widescreen 1080p TV. Although it's not actually 1080p, it's actually 1680x1050 insted of 1920x1080. But it still runs in 1080p mode, but couple that with the fact that the game isn't actually rendered in 1080p but is being displayed in 1080p, I guess that's why it's messed up. Everything looks fine and super in the game though, screenshots too.
Except screenshots, the picture looks crap (in terms of colour/brightness etc) in the screenshots as soon as I take it. That's about it.

When I take the screenshots in-game and it displays the pic on the screen it looks just as good as the game. When I viewed the same screenshots online (the ones posted above) they are not as clean. The screenshots I uploaded for "rate my ride" came out horrible (see the RX8 pics above) even though they looked OK on my screen.
Let us know if running it in 720p solves your problem. I have seen screens like yours posted elsewhere and I don't think they know why.

Yeah, I think I have it fixed. Just have to make sure it's running in 720p. And not some hunky dory 1080 mode. (Can't tell the difference in game between 720 and 1080 in game anyway)

The screens really don't do any justice tbh. It seems like all the eye candy is turned off when you take photo's, it should be the other way round when taking photo's! More eye candy, more effects added etc... hopefully they'll develop it more through patches.

It appears that the highest rated cars are the more desired cars (Saleen, Lambo, etc.). They don't necessary have the better work done to them. Last night my Camaro above was ranked #35. Today it was bumped down the list; its now rated a 7.00 out of 8 votes. There's obviously too many haters out there.
Why did your car get deleted? I uploaded a few that had license plates that were automatically changed to the midnight club plate. It was done instantly so they have some sort of filter. I have seen some get by it though and can't believe some of the words or phrases were not in the filter.

If you like fast paced racing on city streets where you can take the route you want, than I say its worth getting. Plenty of cars to get and customize. The customization is all visual though. You just pic standard performance upgrades. You don't need to tweak all your performance shit for best results. It have some online modes too. I'm just renting now, and have more free rental passes. If I'm still enjoying it in another month or so I'll probably buy it or throw it on the Christmas list.Kptk92 wrote:

Plus the music is edited in the game. Thankfully one of the recent PS3 updates allows you to play your own music (from PS3 HDD) in Midnight Club LA. Has froze my system a few times jumping back and forth though. Still worth the hassle and I haven't lost anything yet. I use a flashdrive to load stuff on my PS3 and backup my game saves..... just in case.

Fucking Bollocks. I had an RX8 worth like $45k, and I was racing the other guy (Lester) for his RX8. So this was a pink slip race, but then I fucking had to go out. Now me, being the not so smart person, thought that if I just turned off the PS3 then I wouldn't lose anything, but the game is smarter than that. I still ended up losing my car
So, let that be a warning. If you're going to enter a pink slip race, basically, you just have to win, no matter what. Even If your power cuts out in the middle of the race, you've lost the car m8. Which is kind of lame, but oh well.
So I sold the Firebird (or something) which I won before and then with that cash got that Cobalt SS (nice car, should've got that instead of the RX8 before) and now I'm working my way up again. Just unlocked B Class cars - Which one shall I go for? I'm leaning towards either the Lancer Evo or the RX7.

So far there's only been one mission/task where I needed to use a different car, and that was right at the beginning where I had to win like 5 races or something with a Muscle car. That's it. I want more vehicle type specific races like in MC3, hopefully it'll come up soon.
