Anchorage should be out tomorrow and cost 800 Microsoft points. the 27th that is b/c its 10:05 right now so technically it is to morrow...
how much money is 800 microsoft points?
I think it's $10?
Seems a bit like a ripoff if you ask me. These DLC packs only seem to have like $5 worth of material.

Why are the guns so fucking shit?
DLC's out. 800 MSP = $10, btw.
I'd play, but I'm leaving for the first part of my English Regents at 11:30... Damn you, Junior year.
I'll play later and report back here how it is.
Edit: Btw, the Fallout Wiki has a report on stuff you can take back. Unfortunately, the T-51B armor is NOT as strong as the one you get in-game.

So I ended up getting this game for cheap on my PS3, I'll say I'm quite impressed. Finished it the other day (good karma ending) - Was a pretty fun game. Wish there were more guns/monsters though. And not enough big scary ones either. Except for the shrek/hulk hybrid things (and then really big version of them) - Good game, lots of detail but perhaps the main story itself was abit weak, but there's shitloads to do so it's good in that way.
It's true what that guy above said, all the guns are pretty shit even when they're in top condition. Well except for the blast weapons like missile launchers etc.. and VATS is useless unless they're right in front of your face (even when you level up and have high points for guns etc.. ) but it's still a unique and decent thing.
Probably one of the biggest gripes is that so much of the shit for the side quests (and alot of generally locked doors/terminals etc.. to all the goodies) requires you to be a higher level for this and that (lockpicking etc..) that you can't do anything except the main quest and before you fucking know it, the game is over. They should've opened out the game abit more whilst you're at lower levels so you're not forced to just do the main missions.
Also the thing I don't understand the most is that if the bloody nuclear war happened all the way in 2070 or someshit, and the game is set 200 years later. Why does everything look like the war happened in the 50's and the game is set about 30-50 years later? All the cars/buildings/terminals etc.. look like 50's garbage. They're probably trying to go for some unique style there, but I'd have preffered if the surroundings actually looked like a place that was fucked up in the year 2070 and then left to rot for 200 years. It didn't look anything like that...
But still, I enjoyed the game alot, there's so much to do and I've already started a new game doing different choices *cough* "ka-fucking-boom" instead of "yay defused" /hint
I'll tell you already, playing the game as a badass with bad karma and doing all the bad things etc.. is much more fun. Fucking ghoul freaks. Kill them all. Kill everyone
AND WHY DIDN'T I GET TO SHOOT SHIT UP IN THE CONGRESS BUILDING? (or.....maybe I just haven't unlocked a side mission for that...)
And there were so many parts where I was expecting a proper boss battle, RPG style, but it never fucking happened.
There are no proper bosses in the game, what's the point

Deathclaws are way freakier than Super Mutants. I actually find the Super Mutants kinda funny. Their voice reminds me of the Heavy from TF2.
Also, <3 VATS. Seeing a Super Mutants head be completely obliterated is so fucking fun every time and will never get old.
The whole timeline/retro 50's stuff has to do with the Fallout universe...you'll have to ask Miggle about it, but I'm pretty sure the Fallout world splits off from the normal world a little after WWII.

Yeah I read the timeline etc.. from some website, now it makes sense. I haven't encountered any deathclaws etc.. yet. That's another problem, I'm finding so much more shit this time around, but still nothing to back it up as of yet (missions). I guess I didn't do enough of the side missions the first time around, but even now when I'm trying to do other shit, it's still restricting.
VATS is just shit for anything except close range where it's good at hitting moving targets (better than normal) - you can still get critical hits and explosions/gibs when going it "old skool FPS" mode. Plus with automatic guns if you use VATs they just fire in bursts which is useless at long range, It's funny how you can always hit targets at long range doing it normally but when you go into vats suddenly it's only a few % chance of a hit. I used to use it alot then I realised how pointless it really was.
I prefer seeing the human characters get gibbed, feels more satisfying then watching some stupid monster blow up.
Frankly I think it's ridiculous how little the main story actually reflects on the actual world, and how you end up finishing the game so quickly because most of the time the main story is the only mission you can actually go onto complete. But oh well, this time round I'll know better. I guess

Is there download content yet? Because I just checked the download section in my PC version and nothing is there.
It's on the 360...I downloaded it around 10 this morning. Should be up on PC too, logically..Naturn wrote:

Maybe later on today. But, nothing yet.
You need loads of luck to hit anything under 50 percent, I had it at 8 and missed occasionallyMekstizzle wrote:

Just completed "Paving The Way". Very, very fun so far...and pretty difficult at times, too. Some funny parts as well which you'll see in the regular FO3 world, but I'll mention those when I'm done. Time to liberate Anchorage! /cliche
I've already leveled up twice. Once normally, another time using the "here and now" perk.

when you do finish and get the goodys dont put on the winterized T-51b until you get outside the compound i had a problem when i did put it on the outcast became hostile and attacked me but when i got outside the rest didn't . since the fact i wasn't even going to rob them blind even though i wanted tooPoseidon wrote:

o and the gauss rifle is fucking cool since in the FO3 world you can knock somebody off their feet
Haha, yeah...happened to me too. I took a couple of things and then apparentely I did something to set them off. I think they just don't want you taking TOO much.seeker67 wrote:

I didn't really even need much. Just the gauss rifle + ammo, trench knife, chinese suit/sword and the health. Nothing else. But they shot at me anyways! No wonder they're outcasts... :S
Oh well...dunno if it was worth $10, but it was a hell of a lot of fun to play. The 100 achievement points (and 20 for getting to rank 14) were certainly nice as well.
Edit: Wait a minute...The Fallout Wikia says that it's supposed to happen.
As soon as you enter the Armory one of the Defenders attempts a coup d'etat. You can ether let them kill Protector McGraw and the Scribe or you can assist them. If you assist them the scribe will be willing to repair your gear and the Outcasts outside will not be hostile to you. However you cannot attack the Rebel until Mcgraw calls him a traitor if you do then everyone becomes hostile to you.

no wonder why after all the fuss she said that she was greatful and offered to repair my stuff
Heh. She died for me, and Protector McGraw said thanks and that she was a good fighter...doesn't really matter though, there's a fuckton of other people who can repair my stuff anyways.seeker67 wrote:

Also, did you happen to see the soldiers posing for the photograph? They were posing for this:
Thought that was pretty cool.

Is the DLC worth the $10, that's all I care about.
