'US, August 19, 2008 - CEO and President of game developer Crytek said Crysis cost 15 million Euros (22 million USD) to develop during a panel about the future of gaming graphics at the Games Convention Developers Conference in Leipzig, Germany. Yet despite the cost, Yerli maintained the game was profitable, adding, "if it wasn't profitable I wouldn't be able to stand here."

In the past, Crytek was responsible for the first-person shooters Far Cry (2004) which ran on its CryEngine 1, and Crysis (2007), which rand on its CryEngine 2. Crysis Warhead, another first-person shooter with ties to Crysis and also built with CryEngine 2, is being readied for release this September.

Yerli gave no word on what other titles the company might produce between now and 2012, when he believes the studio's next engine will be ready and a new generation of consoles will be available.'

I also loved it.

And I played the entire thing on low settings and a stuttering framerate!

Brilliant game. I've only ever played it on the Delta difficulty though. It's the mode to play the game on.

Yeah it was a bit weird but hey, they had lots of advanced body armour on. It kinda makes sense.

I am only part way through the game, but is not bad.

I honestly think the reason so many people hate it is because their computers can't play it well, or they refuse to play a game on low graphics settings. Once that whole thing got in motion other people just jumped on the "omg crysis is shit" wagon.

On medium it runs almost as well as any other game, and looks better so I don't see what the big deal is.

Part of the issue, true enough. People who spent money on upgrades to play it expect better then what it delievered. Even the highest end cards at the time of its release were having issue with the game, which isnt right.

My self on the other hand, a hge fan of Far Cry was vastly disappointed with the demo. Very generic in the gameplay, and the suit gimic was just that. The 4 modes dont really make much of a difference. When im running around in super strength mode i want to punch a guy and see him go flying a few hundred yards, not just a few feet more then he normally would

Well, on its lowest settings it looks as good as other games out there... The highest end cards aren't having issues with the game, they just cant play it maxed...

The setting is just a name... Look at the actual graphics VS what it takes to run it. My computer is at least a year and a half old, only has 2 gig ram, has 320mb video memory...
The graphics I get from the game are great, better then what I get from other games I have and it runs fine. Even if they make the max settings so demanding that LITERALLY the technology does not exist to handle it... Who cares if decent computer can still get good graphics out of it.
Look at the hardware it takes to achive a certain level of visual performance...not the hardware it takes to achive an arbitrary "high" mark.

So they set the "high" level too high? It just means you get great graphics now, that only get better as hardware progresses.

I loved Crysis too. The only part I didn't like was the part inside the alien ship, but that part was only 30 minutes long.

But the rest of Crysis was pure brilliance, and if Warhead doesn't have a shitty alien-spaceship level it may be in with Portal and Half-Life as the games I have nothing bad to say about.

I love this game and it is my all time favorite FPS game. SP and MP owns!

Singleplayer catches you immediately, but Multiplayer takes some time to fully master and get used to the system.

Owning a GTX 280 and a E8400 Processor with a nice 4 GB of RAM allows me to fully enjoy the game (30-70 FPS on VH)

Hence my point that it's really annoying when you only have 30-40 round and you have to hit the guy 10 times. Because the guy has time to hide unless you're point blank.
