yes i would play the server allot i think,i was buzzin when i heard that u guys had a server but when i found out it was in the states i was a bit miffed cause of ping and such,its always empty aswell.
i think it would be awesum to have a bf2s.com european server!make it happen

Is there already a bf2s server in the US? whats the ping if there is?

Damn all of you who dare to cuss Karkand!!  It's one of the best maps in the game owing to the lack of helis and jets!!!

Yes, there is. It's in Dallas, so the ping is pretty good from all over the US. The problem is that no one is EVER on it. I mean, we can get a game started once in a while, but then it just fizzels off after an hour or two.

This is the bane of all game servers out there. Sometimes you have great population and sometimes it's nothing but crickets. Often some of the mainstay popular servers are that way because of round the clock play time. Because of a good ping or because of a good core group that always logs into it regardless of population. Servers that are populated more than half way will always be the most popular. After a while name recognition takes over. Favorite lists etc.

The only way to cure this slump in BF2S is to play on it regardless of the numbers. Play on it even if it's only 5 on 5. I know this isn't appealing to some but if you want the BF2S server to become popular and hence populated most of the time, we are going to have to make a sacrifice.

Also good settings for certain maps is a must. 2 Rounds is ideal per map. Some maps are better in 64 player mode but capped at 40 to 48 players. Manshurr City is on such map where it's great to be on the 64 player map but with only 48 players. Also a good set of Admins that are well versed in good play and good sport ideals will help alot. Have a good server with good admins that are profesional and consistant that promotes teamplay and you will attract only the best and most mature players. Kicks and Bans must be done on nitwits in order to state a point.

While I am not in Europe so I can't speak on that subject, I wouldn't mind some more ads. I barely notice the ones on right now. As long as they're not pop-ups, I think it would be fine.

I dont play there because I get a poor 130 ping

1. Me and my guys would definatley play there pretty often, everyday i guess.
   I wouldn't care which european country the server would be located at, since i got good connections to uk's
   nl's and german servers.
   But for most people not the maps but the server config is very important.

2. Right now, i can't provide a server sponsor myself, but i would join a brainstormin some time, since we all have internet access and speak english fluently.
   By the way B.Schuss, we live in the same town.
   A lot of good ideas were brought up like NVidia and stuff. With this site chuy could get sponsored the EU server as well very easily.

3. In my opinion ads are not that bad, as long as they are no popups, no flashy things and well integrated in the side as everything is already.
   I think the right banner at the right spot wouldn't mind anybody, especially not me, because it's for a reason and not for porn-sites.

@chuy, since your US Server is not frequently used, i would like to make a suggestion:
As i can see the config of the server says 32maps, change the mapsizes to 64 since u got  a 42slot server. if possible raise the ticketratio as well.
For my part i didn't know that u have a bf2s ranked server, till i visited the forum again. The reason for it:
I don't see the announcement on my statspage that i got linked in my browser-quick-launch-bar-thingy of mozilla
Is it possible to make a announcement about the ranked server on the statspage of every player, like next to the go button of "get stats" ?
The announcement of the server on the start-page could be a little higher, maybe between "find player" and "top 10".

It's all just a suggestion and some thoughts.

Fizzles off after an hour or two? Sounds like Pepsi or Coca Cola are expanding their business to BF2 servers

1. Bf2s server in europe? Of course i would play there! It doesnt really matter where in europe it is since with my connection i get something like 40-50 if the server is in UK. Unless you get a server somewhere in spain or something :S

2. No sponsors from me. We little kiddos are a bit too young for anything job related.

3. Ads are OK, dont mind them. Unless theyre the type that pop-ups every time i load a page no matter what.

i love the idea of a EU bf2s server. like sgt. ghost said "Awesome"

2. cant help here

3. Well, I agree with the current policy, the fewer banners the better. But a few more won't hurt, and perhaps Chuy might look into banners that are more attractive that the current google adds. Just guessing that a few gamer / pc parts shop would love to have some adds here...

2. Sorry, i can't help with money/sponsors, i'm a student.
3. I'm surprised there are so few and unintrusive. I wouldn't mind a few more.
