Not really sure how you could be talking shit on the Twins, I mean they ARE in the playoffs.  And they aren't totally out of it yet.
We'll see if Hughes can be stable. Use Robertson for the 7th, Wood for the 8th, Mo for the 9th. Been working so far.

P.S. I know some people think the Yankees just bring in the most expensive and best players, but look at Kerry Wood. Pitcher who nobody really wanted is one of the best in the Yankees bullpen right now. Cashman is a fucking genius.
yankees have made some good/great trades but they're god awful at handing out money on free agent players.

I'm sure Jeter/Arod/Mo bring a lot of revenue for the franchise but they are not worth what they're getting paid this year, specially Arod.
wish MLB would integrate Salary cap so we wont have to see thew yankees in every WS just cuz they have the money to spend on players
Uh, no? Teixeira signed here because he was offered the most money to sign here. We have the money to do it, so we do it. How is that "god awful at handing out money". If you have the money to outbid someone on an auction and you do it, are you godawful with money? They're also the smartest about it because our owners actually invest the money back into the team. You wouldn't see the Marlins' owners doing that, that's for damn sure.

And you're kidding about Mo, right? He's well worth the money he's getting. Even at his age he's a practically lights out pitcher. And he's still got 2 years or so left in him. Jeter? Well, he had an off year that's for sure. Still extremely solid defensively however and is the face of the team. A-Rod...excuse me while I wipe my eyes of tears from spending money on a guy who just hit 30 HRs and had 125 RBIs and has at least 30 HRs and has 100 RBIs in every season since 1998.

yes you're right about Mo, he is a lights out closer, maybe the best closer ever.

Jeter is not a solid defender anymore, he has aged and doesn't have the range to get to balls that most SS would get to, yes he has few errors, that doesn't mean he's a great defender, by any metric he is a below defender SS.

Arod, hahahahahahahahahaha, I laugh at that contract.
32MM/year?
seriously? there is not one player who is worth that money and Yankees will be paying him until he is 42 and no less than 20MM/year
do you really think he will produce at the same level as he has when he is 42?
i bet that he will be out baseball by then, mark my words

Especially seeing your location, you clearly have absolutely no ideaswhat you're talking about.

Our infield is probably the best defensive tandem in the league. Cano and Jeter are the main reasons for that.

What a stupid fucking question.

Would you not sign Albert Pujols to a 10 year contract because he won't perform as well in his 9th and 10th years? Seriously.

Hamilton is a beast. He and Lee are both incredible players.

Thank God it looks like Lee's coming to NY next year. One would hope.

Yankee fans are hilarious. They're so loud-mouthed and full of themselves, but as soon as their team starts losing it, they leave the stadium in shame, before the game's even over. It's the playoffs, at least stick with it and show the team you're apparently a die-hard loyal supporter of some, well... support.

yeah, I'm sure Angels fans (or whatever team you're a fan of) all would stay when their team is down by 7 runs going into the 9th inning on a weeknight.

Some people work in the morning. It's a crazy thought, I know. I've left Islanders games early (used to have season tickets) when we were winning because my father had work in the morning.

Excuses, excuses. It's the playoffs. Stay and support your team. I wouldn't go to the game if I didn't plan on staying through the whole thing. Work tomorrow If the game was going the other way, they wouldn't leave before the end, citing they had work the next morning. Be glad your team at least made it this far and stick around.

Again, I'm sure it NEVER happens at the Angels games. It's an excuse whether you like it or not. It has nothing to do with supporting of the team, it has to do with the fact that it's fucking 11:45 and Sergio Mitre's pitching like he wants to be deported.

Keep in mind I'm talking post-season games here. And honestly I don't think I've seen a stadium that empty during a playoff game that the home team were losing. Yank fans are pathetic, just admit it. Sore losers. All the budget in the world and still losing. Sucks.

If I had tickets for a playoff game and my team was getting crushed 20 to nothing and it was midnight, I'd still stay to the end. Gotta support, regardless.

I guess the Yankees just have a bigger and more convenient bandwagon to hop on.

Yep, Yankees fans are pathetic for leaving a game they're down 7 runs in in the top of the 9th at 12:00 at midnight. What a stupid notion.

That's good for you. You're unemployed. I guess I'd be able to say something like that if I supported a shit team like the Angels, I suppose.

You say "it's the playoffs" like it's a huge thing. It's the Yankees. They've won the World Series 27 times. If they don't make it to the World Series this year, our fans won't think it's that big of a deal because our team is the greatest team in the history of sports. In the long run, it doesn't matter. We don't cry about it. We look towards the offseason and see what the team can do to improve.

Poseidon, Poseidon...

Yes, the Yankees fans are pathetic for leaving a game and not sticking with them until the end. Part of being a fan of a team is sticking with them through thick and thin, not just for the wins. What a stupid notion. But that's where the bandwagon part comes in, as mentioned before.

You talk shit and make assumptions but come off as a general asinine loud-mouth. Fitting the Yankee fan stereotype perfectly.
Also, if you really must know, I'm not unemployed and don't "support a shit team like the Angels". Good try, though.

"We don't cry about it." Well, you got me on that one. I didn't see any Yankee fans at the game crying. But I guess that's why they went home early, to cry alone in the dark where no one would see them.

The Yankees do have a lot of bandwagon fans. Yet the actual CORE of true fans is larger than any team in the MLB. Sorry your Angels don't fall into that category.

Haha, I talk shit? Here you go talking about a fanbase consisting of MILLIONS and calling them all bandwagoners because they left in a game where they're down 7 runs going into the 9th inning on a weeknight. On that alone proves that you're simply talking out of your ass on a subject you know so little about. You should go talk to Pace, I think you guys would make good friends.

New MLB rule, as according to mtb: If you do not stay all 9 innings, YOU ARE NOT A FAN. YOU DO NOT DESERVE TO BE ENTITLED A FAN. TO SOCCER WITH YOU.

I love when non-Yankees fans try to characterize Yankees fans and call them bandwagoners. This is a new one though, I have to admit. Leaving in the top of the 9th on a weeknight at 12:00 when the team is down 7 runs makes you a bandwagon fan.

It's always funny to see how the mind of a fan of a team that has absolutely no competition with yours works.

Thank you. I'm glad you understand. Showing "support" when they're winning, but leaving them when they're losing does not make you a true fan. Now that that's out of the way...

Oh, and the stadium was emptying before the top of the 9th, though that is when the majority of them left. They can be cut some slack I suppose. But leaving before that... gg.

And you didn't read my post before? Where I clarified that I wasn't a fan of the Angels? Yet you still harp on about how I'm a fan of a team with no competition You shouldn't make your insecurities so obvious. Typical loud-mouthed New Yawkuh

Unless you're a fan of the Cardinals, the only other team to come moderately close, it doesn't matter. You'll never be in competition with the Yankees and your team will always be in the shadow. We act smug because we can, and because people like you are bitter. And it's hilarious.

Awww yeah, when you leave early it means you don't support the team! You should be there 100% of the time, get there early to tailgate for every single game, stick around for the post-game interviews and then get a tattoo of your favorite player on your back. That's "supporting" the team! Because when you leave early when your team is down 7 runs on a weeknight in a game

I was watching the game too. People started heading out after Swisher and Berkman got out in the bottom of the 8th. I don't know what game you were watching but it wasn't the one on TBS.

Everyone clap for mtb! He's such a true fan! He stays for EVERY single game from beginning to end. Clearly, he's so much more dedicated than people who've been fans of the team for many years but actually have jobs. You're so incredible! How DO you do it?!

No, no... it can't be... only Yankees fans are bandwagon fans because they... LEAVE EARLY

http://www.silive.com/jets/index.ssf/20 … ve_ea.html

Wait, hold on... fans leaving early after a WIN? HOLY SHIT, THOSE PATRIOT FANS... clearly, not supporting their team. Horrible people. Terrible fans, just terrible.
