i was just thinking if theres an old thread which someone posts in to avoid making a new one, it usually gets closed and new 'duplicate' thread get closed for avoiding necroposting.

So i pose the question to you, what is worse necroposting or making a new topic?

I reckon if no one has touched it for over 2 months, then it should be reposted, unless the original thread was really well known.

Depends on the grounds. If it is a question the chances are the answer has changed, so necro / no post at all. If it is a debate or whatever then new topic as the circumstances may have changed etc..

If you can find the original topic, I see no reason not to use that same one. It avoids you getting hit in the face with a "SEARCH N00B" the reason why the button is so large to begin with.
