like I said to each his own. it's my opinion it's a waste I dont expect you to feel the same. I never fit plates or repairers on any taranis I fit for damage and speed. and if you look on killboards you will see plenty of taranis without plates. thats the wnderful thing about eve there are many options for fitting. even when most players jump on the flavor of the month bandwagon

show me someone who fits plates on a taranis. doing a quick search on battleclinic I cant find anyone who was running plates on a taranis. mind you I didnt look through the whole list just the top rated fits http://www.battleclinic.com/eve_online/ … peID=11200

crusaders and maledictions yes. but I dont fly amarr, so it's not an issue for me

Ahh fotm bandwagon, fly minmatar then tell me I'm a fotm'er. I agree with reppers, they just suck without proper resistences. I know someone who fit a malediction with a nos and repper though, made a vid or 2 or a few. Easily tanked other inties damage, except the odd taranis

Taranis with plate is majorfail, and taranis without a Damage control is evenmorefail.

The only inty that can survive with a plate is a claw. But I don't recommend it. Then again I don't recommend minnie inties for anything besides suicide tackling.

Also, yes these are both from numbers and experience. Damage is little more than a combination of range, damage mod/ROF, and tracking. A pulsader that has more range, more DPS, and better tracking than an arty claw will rape you sideways every time, no questions asked. Arties don't have good enough tracking, range or DPS at frigate level to be competitive. Autocannons don't have the range, shooting at optimal + falloff means you do 38.5% of your paper DPS, tracking independent. Why do ~50 DPS at 7-8km when you could do 100 DPS at 17km? There's no reason to ever fly a claw over a crusader.
